What oil and filter for 2022 V8 Coyote

Just ordered a 2022 F150XL 4x4 Supercab 8' bed.
Will be my first new vehicle and new truck in 19 years. Hope to keep it 20 years and for 200k-300k miles. Got 355k out of my last new truck. Back in 2010 bought my neighbors 2001 GMC had 51k on it now has 185K and going strong. I take great pride in and enjoy maintain my vehicles.

Was wondering what owners of F150's with the V8 Coyote engine use for synthetic oil and oil filters. Cost is not a factor of either, strictly looking to get what's best at protecting my engine.
On all of my current vehicles (newest is a 2010) I change my engine oil every 4 months or 5k miles regardless. Usually run synthetic oil specific Fram Ultra filters and Valvoline 5w-30 full synthetic.
But I know the 5.0L V8 Coyote engine is an entirely even radically different animal than any of my current vehicles engines and will certainly need at the least a different weight of oil and possibly filter as well.

So all you F150 5.0L V8 Coyote engine fans what oil and filter you using a nd recommend using?

It takes 7.75 quarts of 5w-30 and I recommend a Motorcraft filter with Motorcraft oil.

Thank you for your reply.
IIRC, isn't Motorcraft oil and filters OEM?

Ford specifies 5W30 for the 5.0, so you can use whatever 5W30 oil you want. I would NOT touch a Fram filter with a 10 foot pole. If you do not want to use a stock Motorcraft FL500S filter, use a Mobil 1 M1-212A or Amsoil EAO17.

Thanks for the replies.

I would likely stick with Ford recommended OEM oils and filters. My research so far into the 5.0L Coyote engine is showing 9/10 owners use and recommend Motorcraft 5w30 and Motorcraft filters. Can't imagine why I should do otherwise.

Motorcraft has 2 different 5W30 oils - a synthetic blend and a full synthetic. OEM is the blend.

With that said, I use Mobil 1 EP and Mobil 1 filter in my old 4.2.

I have always used OEM filters in all my F150s (4.6, 5.4 and 5.0), along with Mobil 1 synthetic of the recommended weight (occasionally Rotella or Valvoline if I can't find Mobil 1). Never had an issue in 400K+ miles.

Thanks to all who replied.
I usually buy my oil in amounts for 1.5-2 years worth of oil changes. My filter about a years worth and store them sealed in Ziplok bags then in large Tupperware containers.
Right now I have a lot of Valvoline full synthetic on hand for my vehicles along with Purolator Boss Oil filters.

Purolator Boss is an excellent filter. You wouldn't go wrong with using them in the new truck along with Valvoline, as long as it's 5W30 synthetic.

I agree 100%
I had always read reviews that stated Purolator One and Boss oil filters were among the best oil filters for pickups and passenger vehicles and I have used them for best guess 300K++ miles now with zero issues.
In my research of the last few weeks I have read posts at automotive WS claiming that Purolator's quality had slipped precipitously over the last few years. Although not naming the BOSS filter specifically.
To fact check these claims I went to YouTube and looked up Purolator reviews along with oil filter reviews in general.
Watched over a dozen videos where they opened up new Purolator Boss And Purolator One oil filters and did SBS comparisons using Wick, MC and Mobil 1
The Purolator Boss filters were the equal of all they were compared to and the superior to others like Fram.
I even watched two videos where they cut open a Purolator Boss filter, one after 12k miles the other IIR 14k miles and the filter looked to be in good working shape.
I am a complete novice when it comes to oil filters and rely on the data of others who are hopefully as knowledgeable about them as they claim and so far for my application of a standard use pickup trucks and SUV's (that's all I own now) and synthetic or synthetic blend oils. I'm confident now that the Purolator Boss oil filter, Mobil 1 or MC should serve me well.

Again thanks for the information.
