What codes? Maybe it's the Fuel pump module back by the spare tire?

thanks for the reply nu-supercrew.scaned again, codes 0171,0174,generic codes0060,2195,2197,2272.....But also 0191 which comes up on my scanner as fuel rail pressure A cercuit.Being the first codes deal with lean condition and the 0191 deals with a fuel pressure problem,I think it could be faulty fuel pump. The truck has 200,000 K,s on it.Do you agree this maybe the problem ?.....I don't have a fuel pressure gage for this type of vehicle.....thanks Sam

with that many miles.....

could possibly be a vacuum leak or the o2 sensers

some easy maintenance to do first is clean the maf, tb, and change the fuel filter....there are threads in the how to section of the forum on these.....

At that mileage, I'd change the FPDM before going after the fuel pump. Betcha it's pretty corroded. THAT is what controls fuel pressure.

Ok,changed fuel pump and truck has way more power and doesn't fall on its face going up hills anymore.Lean codes are gone and fuel pressure code gone.Scanned it again and shows faulty heated o2 sensor ,bank 2,sensor 2.Also #8 cyl. random misfire.Plugs hasn't been changed for 200.000 k's.Now the fun starts.QUESTION.when they say bank 2,which side is it?:o..A friend mechanic said it is the right side. But I think it is the left side because #1 cyl. is on the right side, hence bank #1...

Bank 1 is passenger side, bank 2 driver. Bank 2 sensor 2 is downstream sensor behind converter driver side. #1 cylinder is on passenger side

Why did you leave the plug change for so long?

For recommends 60k miles (100k km) now.

Poor truck. These things need proper maintenance to stay reliable and run properly. You neglect some things - the result can be cascading failures - and far more needless $$$ spent to reward you for yer lack of care.

Difficult to take you seriously when you neglect something this basic.

Front O2's are long past due as well - may as well replace the rears while yer at it.

What else have you neglected?

Here's some info - just for you:

There is a lot more like those - but you'd actually need to use the Search function .. I'm not holding my breath on that one ...

Preventive maintenance > Reactive maintenance.
