500 rwhp 5.4 build ?????

Here is the deal, Im starting to buy parts for my winter project of rebuilding my procharged 5.4. As soon as drag racing is done Im getting started on buying parts. Ive read that my truck, 2001 crew cab 4x4 f150 came from the factory with a forged crankshaft............the same one that came in the superhcarged lightning thats supposed to be good for 900fwhp? Is this fact or just BS, if its fact great I just saved myself some $$$.

Other parts Im going with are Manley 4340 rods, 10.1:1 pistons (procharger's recomendation). Sending the heads off to get a stage three port job, Lunati blower cams and valvetrain set up, 12 psi pully for the procharger, fuel system to support it built with the stock block and a custom tune.

Thanks.

Stock block 500hp? Why?
If your planing on making big HP, go with all forged internals! Crank ,rods and pistons.
There is a good chance your truck already has a forged crank (my 03 5.4 came stock from the factory with a forged crank) But it was kinda hit and miss what 5.4s got them. So you have a 50 50 chance on it being forged.
With 12 PSI you might hit 500 HP but not 500 RWHP.
Good luck, sounds like fun.

I say lets wait and see, I think you will be supprised at how close to the mark I get if I don't hit it, The stock block should be fine for that power level, its not a worry for me its the crank and rods. You might have missed the rest of the parts list for the build, stage 3 ported heads, blower cams, and 12 psi or boost 10.1:1 compression. And just to clear up any confusion and give you more faith in my ability and estimates, Im fairly new to this site but Im not a newb to building big power, Ive got an 9 second N/A SBF powered mustang that makes nearly 800 hp without a power adder.

Ive built multiple 1000+ hp sbf nitrous motors for drag racing and Im currently building a 600 hp pump gas 408 for my buddy's 92 notch also........bet it clears 600 in N/A trim also on 93 pump gas and is very streetable.

And no Im not d**k mesuring with you or trying to come accross as a *****, you may be right but lets just wait and see what it does.

My baby

Going to go with a built 4r70 from a guy on here that everyone is always recomending, just needed to know if the cranks were forged or not so I know if I need to get one ordered or not.

I was just saying, if you buying new pistons for 10;1 compression. Buy forged pistons and you can run 1000 rwhp without any worries.

Oh, and what is a SFB?

Yep there only rated to 400 flywheel HP at 6000rpms. You have to back off the 6000 mark to make any more.

SFB- SBF whatever.
Small block Ford, spell it out and I'll know what the hell your talking about.
You can make a ton more power with a small block Ford then you can with a 5.4 Triton just buy porting the heads and bumping up the compression.
5.4 is a totally different animal. You need a power adder, and if you hit 500HP,not RWHP your lucky with 12 PSI.

I have most of the same mods ,and I was running 15 PSI before I ever broke 500RWHP!
