I'm using the wd-40 and it's catching most of the aluminum but I noticed a tiny bit went down the hole. Any tips to get that out? I tried the small hose on the end of the vacuum and that didn't do the trick. Some grease on the end maybe?
Yea, you use grease right off. Yea , don't thread a hole thru the piston lol. No, I don't think you can.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong at this point. I have an air tool now and on a low setting like the instructions say I can use it. It will spin and spin, however not "very freely" like the instructions say. I'm not able to tap anything. It's not catching. I wish I could have your guys luck with this, but I am striking out. Any ideas? I really want to wrap this project up and I'm completely stuck.

I'm not sure what your mean I guess. Are the threads completely out or something ? Are you able to tap ? Have you removed the tool and looked to see what's going on ? Do you need a Big Sert kit ? The Big Sert is only needed IF the plug chamber damage exceeds the normal insert size. But that usually doesn't happen unless it has been repaired in the past with an inferior product, - like a heli-coil.

Original sp threads were gone when I got it. Looking down I see no threads. I do not know if I need a big sert or not. I'll snap some photos and post in a little to show what's been done.

Looks like it wasen't drilled deep enough to me. Taps bottoming out and you most likely took out a couple threads. Iduno, I haven't worked that kit, but that's what it looks like IMO.

Well got it done, took about 30 more minutes of drilling but it's done. Tapped and insert is inserted with all spark plugs done.

And she LIVES! Sorta....

Starting spewing coolant out of a part right behind the alt. Don't know the name of it and no camera ATM. It's rusted so its metal, stands straight up and a coolant line goes into it. It's about the size of your thumb & looks to thread right into the air intake.

What is that part? Thank you!

Bottom of the air intake in the middle, the metal part where the coolant connects in. That's the part.

I don't see an air intake in the pic, just the upper and lower. The 98's have a sensor there and a coolant line (on the right). The 99's don't have a sensor, just a coolant that runs from there, thru a plenum tree, then to the heater core hard line. It's Fords "Cold Climate system". Some of those are caped and by-passed if this system is not on your engine. It's one or the other and yes they will leak ALLOT leaving it open like that.
