Its my first truck and I have way too many questions. I have heard for quite some time now that Motocraft only was the way to go on F150's but I have heard that it does not matter also. I was more trying to validate spending $95 dollars on one part more than anything. Didn't understand that Motocraft parts meant that much. AND no, slamming me like that was not necessary either.
No , but I earned it with all the info/help I posted in your other threads and now your handling things wrong, I shouldn't need to explain. Moving on in this fashion just informs me that I wasted time and confuses others trying to help and more-less wastes their time. Your getting the same answers, which wouldn't happen if you stuck to one thread

That wasn't a slam, that is exactly what happened. The comprehension thing? Come onnn, you should be able to take a hit. The fact that you can't just shows your true appreciation. You've been validated

Just change the ding dang thing with a motorcraft part, - if that don't do it, then I'll take my lumps. You've covered all the other bases.

Wow? What's wow? Well, I figured it wouldn't take, the crying and whining on page one and in other users threads isn't called for. Stealing others threads with your validation problem isn't to cool either. The DPFE is dealership item only = Motorcraft. I guess no-ones really good with emission control here, if you haven't validated the replacement yet, correct?

As far as the importance of using Motorcraft replacement parts (if you don't know what your doing),- not only is that on this site as well, it's in the manuals, books in your glove-box and there's even a BIG sticker under the hood - Looks sortuh like this -

U-know, you can "Validate" everything said thru the search bar real easy,-AND then compliment that by listening.

Good Luck anyway.

jackhammer, you kiinduh got pimped in this thread.

YuhThink!

So, if you haven't got her fixed yet, -this is for you-

Suck test the EGR valve while @ idle, disconnect the green line from EGR valve and attach your own seperate line (2-3' section of hose). With the engine idling, suck on the hose as if you were drinking a milk-shake. If the truck almost stalls - Valve is good and ports are NOT totally plugged.

Do this first and post findings.

Jbrew, thanks for the tip on cleaning solutions and on everything else you told me about. I found that the 3 solutions you recommended work awesome. The B12 is like a freakin lazer! It justs melts and blasts the carbon and other nasties away the second it hits (TIP: When using the B12, be outside as the fumes will clean your clock!! and I was outside!!). Very easy to clean with. I followed the B12 with Deep Creep to get a little lube on the inside. The IAC is also very clean thanks to the Deep Creep.
After applying all the info I received, our truck now runs like new again.

BIG THANKS to EVERYONE for all the info. My TB is now squeeky clean and the truck idles so smooth, I actually caught myself looking at the RPM's to make sure it was running.

Tumba; BIG THANKS for the link to Cleaning the TB. I printed it out and had next to the tool box as I was working.

So I guess you can say that I'm a happy camper.
Thanks again to everyone's assist. You all were right on target with all your hints and tips. You guys ROCK!!!

jbrew, didn't do the suck test, but the ports were clogged and the B12 took care of that. Nothin' like getting a B12 shot to get ya feelin' great again.
Thanks Again for all your help. It is most appreciated.

Glad it worked out. Yea, lots of info here, it's nice to see/hear when it has helped others. This site has helped me many times.

Before I was member, this site was the go-to, still is , even more so today.

Thanks for posting the results.

If the suck test stalls your engine, you have open ports. The B-12 is what he used to open his ports.

fullyford;
The B12 is made by a company called Berryman. I bought mine at a U.S. nationwide autoparts store called "AutoZone". I would check your local parts store for the B12 cleaner fluid. I would presume Canada would stock it at any of the auto parts stores. It's really good stuff.

Just thought I would elaborate a bit on the B12.... There are 2 kinds... the fuel additive, which does not have the spray head and small red stick for those hard to reach places and the B12 Chemtool cleaner which is shown here (the one I bought)
that does have it. Well I tried to add a pic of the B12, but I guess I didnt do it correctly... so anyway here is the link to the page of the company that makes it.
