carbed 460 in a '97-'04?

I'd like to see this done myself. Hell, if I had the engine sitting around and didn't need my truck everyday, I'd have it done. Really, it's hard but not impossibly by any means. I have seen it in a way custom 97 before in a 4x4 mag. You'd need to rip out and replace alot of what makes the truck run with custom stuff. I actually think you can mount the engine to a AOD tranny if he's already got one but a c-6 with x-fer case would probably be stronger and more cost effective. Do it buddy, but give the 20 yr old engine a good going over.

i think you should go for it. im gonna use a 94 efi 460 sometime next year. probably summer time.
ive been wanting to do this for around six years now ever since i saw it in a 4-wheel drive mag where they did it on a 97 single, short wheel base 4x4 on like some 44's or something
IMPO i want a c-6 auto behind my setup for it will work the best and will last the longest

but it wont bolt up to the 460 unless you get the addaptor plates. i personally dont like my aod, i'd go for the zf5.

i am about to do this same thing to a 97 ex cab f150. i have a freshly rebuilt 72 lincoln motor.365hp 500 ftlbs i think they are stock.it has a serpentine set up off a later model 460 already installed. i am gonna just use the c6. i have a carbd c6 in a 75 reg cab short bed now that gets 13-14 mpg. hell i only get 14-15 outta the 4.2 in the 97 now.
