good luck man, but for some reason i think this is another one of those goose chases that F150online is so popular for

i still stand by the 5.4 especially if you plan on hauling anything at all.

goose chase???? 800 might of been a little drastic... but there is not a day go by that he dont drive at least 350-400 miles he has told me of a couple days ware it was a 15 hour day and he put 750 miles on looking at 3 diffrent jobs.. this is the most popular lumber company in the midwest... which is why there are so many diffrent jobs to go to. and if he aint drivin to see how much lumber it will take he is drivin to jobs in progress to check on progress and bring the report back to the office for his boss... anyway... it sounds like an easy job and i loveto drive... so i am taking over the position.

you're right, the 4.6 has never spit a plug

Theyre not too popular if he had to drive 750miles to find 3 jobs........he should spend more time selling and less driving......I know the housing economy sux (which is why im selling cars instead of lumber now!!!) but if theres not enough work within 40-50miles you are not at a popular lumberyard and should think about closing the doors!!!

I love my 4.6L. Tows my boat, tows my work trailer, its a DD with a nice sound, I added the edge for a few more ponies, and it's good enough. Everyone thinks they need a racecar.. Again, the 4.6L has a long time standing reliability record to boot.

I think the 5.4 is just a stroked 4.6 for more torque, so there really isn't anything to argue about. I'm a hp nut, so I would always go for the 5.4 among those choices, but there is no bad choice in the bunch. You pays your money and you makes your choices.

Yer on the right path..yer in a Ford and looking for a Ford. Go for the bang and get a 5.4 that way IF you need it for other things you have it and won't be wishing you did...

I had a 4.2 got the 4.6 and wish I got the 5.4..I had to work like a dog to get the 4.6 somewhere close to what a stock 5.4 puts out..I'm real close though....

The 4.2 was tough, ran good but was a little weak, the 4.6 is tough, sounds better than the 4.6 and can haul pretty good..The 5.4 is all that but more..It ain't a power stroke or a V-10 but it does the job...

Really...

Care to drop the name of this company you're going to work for?
