Give the kid a break I bet most wish they were 18 again, I know I do.

Back in the day it was a Honda 350 come rain, snow or shine and if you made 3 bucks and hour you were doing pretty good.

The parts would probably have cost half or a third as much.

ouch, that sucks!!! we had a couple classes like that, but my friends dad was our teacher and it was usually my group of friends getting our cars ready for the night of racing and drifting. We just had to have him "teach the class" (as we did all the work) so the administration wouldn't get all pissed.

Wow..no auto shop, well my second option was always the auto hobby shop on base...that is, if that is an option for you.

Yea...2nd race, from a 20 roll...3 to 4th gear shift and then BANG!!, KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK. Last dyno was 426 RWHP...once the new motor is finished, I am estimated 605 RWHP on a conservative tune with pump gas.

Local French school had adult education classes evenings twice a week. Automobile mechanics was one of them. Old 2 post lift that used a bar to spread the posts apart from each other. My truck would fit on the lift. I did however pull the engine out of my 1988 Beretta and replace the crank and rod bearings and add a cam. The teacher was my age and we became close friends.

so really you're making like.. 5-6 an hour. thats more understandable man.

i tried doing that with my buddy as a full time thing, there's just too many rainy days.. or the sun is so high/hot that you can hardly apply chemicals. That's a tough business to run without your own garage or detailing center.
yea, like its raining right now and suppose to all week. and i have no gas.

You guys in HS that get a truck handed to you are Effing lucky. If you work in HS you should beable to pay your own repairs, and still beable to pay insurance. Other wise you wont make it in life.
like i said before I HAD TO BUY THE TRUCK IT WAS NOT GIVEN OR HANDED DOWN to me. and another thing. I WORK AROUND THE WEATHER I WASH CARS!!! when you have prom and a new computer cause your house got struck by lightning and you gotta pay that off as well yea thats why i cant just pull $1,000 out of my *** and say "here". so shut the hell up ive had a bad day already. im under alot of pressure right now, i just got informed that i have a 30 in one of my classes.

I don't give young guys a hard time, I give idiots a hard time. It just so happens that many of the idiots out there also happen to be young. Unlike this fella below...

i work 2 jobs make 8.50 and hour at one as a daily job and $100 or so a day on the side doing demolition/ flipping houses with one of my teachers(maybe once a month)
I'm also a senior in high school, i do ALL of the same things you do, probably even more.
i Afford my preventative maintenance, repairs, truck payments, mods, gas, and insurance.
plus beer(let's get real here..), partying, mall, clothes, prom, senior week, etc.
i do all of that on top of my 20 hours of school and 50 hours of work a week.
It's called saving some money, learn to do it!
put 100 dollars a week aside for spending on things like prom and friends, you'll be good to go.
don't complain about not having money, working ain't that hard.
This kid's got it!! Why can't you figure it out?

Ah that helps explain some of this... maybe you should try getting a real job, or reducing your expenses.

Does someone need to call the WAAAAmbulance for you? Welcome to life. No need to be a ***** to the poor guy, it's not his fault that you made poor financial decisions.

What a surprise.
Edited to add: Actually it doesn't surprise me at all. How could you "just" find out you are failing a class that bad? Didn't you have some idea when you were failing the tests?

Gotta have tools man. Good for you!
Hang onto those tools man, those will last a life time. I hope this kid takes a lesson from you. Speaking of the kid, we still haven't been told what the trouble codes are....previous symptoms, etc...but I have seen a lot of "advice" LOL.

So what about it cadkins09? Did you run down to autozone?

I'm gonna help you out. Business 101 style.

Invoice + tips - expenses = profit. i.e. Your Pay

If it takes you 2 hours to detail a car and you charge $20/hr you get $40. But if you spend $30 in supplies then you only make $5/hr. SO, raise your rate or buy cheaper supplies. Dont forget to figure in your fuel cost and travel time. Plus wear/tear/insurace cost on the vehicle you drive to get there.

what the hell is your problem with me?!?!

1st im not an idiot.

2nd save most of my money but I help my friends out a lot, and im paying for a new computer also and I got college next year also.

3rd, I bought it for $6,000, $3,000 cheaper than the dealer. And my parents had bad credit at the time so they wouldn't have gotten a loan for a car anyway.

4th, the teacher doesn't like me very much, I found it quite amusing that I had a 30 in that class, it doesn't matter that much to me anyway, because it's a computer class and I dont need it to graduate, but now I have like a 85.

5th , are you saying im an idiot because I use turtle wax ice? Thats LAME!
