single turbo for a 4.6L
hey guys... thanks for the gearing help, i went with the 4.10 and am waiting on them so i can get them installed...
now i have been wondering...
i have read that i can safely run about 8 to 10 lbs boost on a stock 4.6L motor and wanted to know...
is this true? and how much horsepower gain can i expect?
i am looking for some under drive pulleys too if anyone knows a good brand and where i can find some...
i'm looking to get all this and then get my truck tuned... does anyone know about how much horsepower each thing will give me?
i'm getting a cold air intake, under drive pulleys, 4.10 gears (have 3.55), single turbo kit, tune...
i'm new to the modification scene but have BIG ideas

The main downside to a turbo that I know of is heat. It would be wise to add an intercooler to the set-up in order to give you more reliable power. Also, make sure you have the right specs on the turbo to get the characteristics you want. If you get too big of a turbo it will take forever to spool up if you don't have the right housing and you'll have all your power up top. Think about fuel delivery and spark too not just forcing more air in. Exhaust size will help in spool up too! There's a lot more to an effective turbo set-up than most people think.

Thats whats good about the STS turbos they are at the back by the rear axle or behide the rear axle so EGT *Exhuast gas temps.* are lower and there is no need to run an intercooler *in most cases unless you want too* with boost comes the need for more fuel and a hotter or colder spark plug range.
