Is the Fram oil filter no good?

I used castrol gtx and mobil 1. My truck made the rattling noise with both of these. I guess ill give motorcraft a try.

your problem is probably not the oil or the filter. lifters/lash adjusters that bleed down can cause this and so can chain tensioners that bleed down.

Will is cause any harm to the motor?

ive ran a few frams never had any probs but a fram filter and Motorcraft are the same price. after my spark plug prob im only using motorcraft parts like my sig. says

"The more parts that say MOTORCRAFT the happyer the triton motor"

if its the chain tensioners the guides may break from the chain slapping against them, its pretty common on the 3v.

Another Fram failure?

Not trying to stir the pot, but I thought this might substantiate the recommendations to use MC filters.

I am searching these forums to try to substantiate the dealers claims that an aftermarket (Fram) filter came apart and plugged oil channels and caused dry start ups and scored the camshaft races. I cried BS but after reading this maybe not.

All I now is at 105k miles I need 2 new heads and cam assemblies and I have been a Fram user from day 1.
