OK...does anyone know if the 30 gallon fuel tank from an 97-02 Expy will somehow slip into 01-03 Screw? I desparatly need more range!!! I have a complete running Expy that I can completly ransack for parts. Already doing the console swap and seat swap is coming up. Help. I want more range!

best thing i can think of is to just get under both and look. are they at least both the same basic shape? pretty sure ive got a little room around my gas tank. if youve got time on your hands pull both and see what happens.

make sure you bring the sending unit from the expy over.

If there not the same, im sure there could be a way to mod the mounts and stick the 30 Gal. under it.

Yeah, I plan on taking bothout. First have to siphon all the gas out of the Expy, it's FULL . Don't want to try to lower that to the ground that way. My biggest fear is that the fuel lines won't reach. Any comment on how to extend those ?

Well, time has come to start this project. No answer on my question about fuel lines not being long enough. How do I lengthen them? Are there "kits" that I can splice in? Gotta get this and a few other mods done before hunting season. Even with the larger fuel tank, I still need to carry 10 gallons to get me back to civilization.

Here's some kits I found just by Googling. Should be able to find something to work.

Thanks Phil...With those I should be able to get the job done. Looking in the shop manual, I see that there is a "support" that is bolted on, but looks like if it were taken off that the larger tank would slip right in! I hope

That leaves the fuel line length issue left to deal with.

You wouldn't have a door keypad on that expy that you would want to part with? Mine is missing a number. Thanks!

maybe... i too want the range of a larger gas tank. i'm thinking the 30 gallon one has a better chance of fitting though.

Well, finally got down and tried to do this.

Bad news.....the 30 gallon from the Expy WILL NOT FIT.

Now to do a search for the 30 gallon from a long bed Scab and see if that will fit.
Any experience with this?
