Make sure to run your hand under the dash. You're looking for dirt, mud, salt, anything that would indicate that the truck has been under water. Under the dash is usually the one place they don't bother to clean. If it's clean, it sounds like a winner and only 32,000 miles on it! Deal hard and long on it but come home with it.

For the right price, I would buy it. Waiting for him to report back to see if it is a 4X4 or not. Living in the Chicago area, you should have a 4x4 with their winters.

Well, I went to the dealer again today a drove the Red/Silver Scab and got a better look at it in daylight. I did reach under the dash for mud/salt, etc. It was clean. The truck is a 4x4 and is in imaculate condition. I took the kids with this time to see what kind of room they would expect. Right now there is enough room as they are still young. I would love to get the truck even is I couldn't get him to lower the price anymore. For this area it seems to be the best truck for the money. I might be able to squeeze another thousand off the price as he has already lowered it by 2 thousand since Friday. I have decided that I am going to see if I can get a super crew (or at least look at one). The only problem is that I have yet to see one with a 4.6 in it. Back to the drawing board.

NADA has this truck w/ 4x4, clean retail @ $14,100.00.

If he has this truck down to $11k, I would find it hard to pass up. Does the back seat have a bench or jump-seats. If it has a bench like my 98, my 12 yr old is 5'4" @ 130lbs and has no problem back there with room.

Just to update. I did buy a truck on Thursday. It is a 2005 F-150 Lariat Supercrew. Here is a link to the dealers page showing the truck. I also bought an extended warranty to cover all the bells and whistles that might break. It is a beautiful truck but much different than what I am used to.

Cheers all!

67K miles one owner. Clean Carfax. Paint is still like new. I did find out that the cigarette lighter doesn't work but since I don't ever use one it is not a big deal. I will check the fuse when I get a chance. I still have two other 12V power points in the cab. Tires still have a couple years worth of rubber on them. When it get warmer I will put it up on the lift to check brakes and undercarrige more closely. The dealer tried to sell me on The Protector. Suppose to protect everything on the truck from UV light and acid rain for $800. I told him I would check it out and get back to him. In theory, it sounds like a good product but I have to research it first.

Dont buy that protector deal. Just take it home and use the Megulars 3 step process except dont buy the 3rd step wax buy the better carniba(sp?) wax. Thats what I use on all my vehicles and it makes them look freshly painted every time
