Thinking of an '04
Sorry, that guy is out of his mind on the price.
My 98 Scab has less miles, all new body work with some new body parts, new paint by a top notch shop, lots of new parts and I mean lots. Went right through the truck in the last year. Mine has more options on it with alot more accessories and the 5.4L engine. It is the Ford Cardinal Red, etc etc.
Mechanically runs perfect. It's your's for 9k (maybe 8500.00)I will use that money to buy a new 09.

I am trying to get a final list of trucks to look at today. The wife is really starting to badger me about using the van for work.
This is the price I found on NADA.com

Doesn't even have the 5.4L in it

I am sure the guy is emotionally attached to the truck. He sees a good clean truck that he probably had no problems with while he has had it. He will get a huge dose of reality when he still has the truck in June. Almost all the trucks I have looked at had the pictures taken in the summer or fall. Here is another truck that has me thinking. I don't like the thought of buying a truck with over a 110k miles on it but the bells and whistles of the King Ranch are hard to pass up. Notice the green grass and leaves on the trees. I have already e-mailed the owner and the truck is still available.
I would try out of state zip codes starting with the closer area that might have cheaper prices. Use car fax it will give you lots of information on whatever car your looking at the service history if its had any insurance claims and all. well worth the 20-30 bucks it costs. I wouldn't but another used car with out using it.. You get unlimited access so you can vin number check every car that is listed. It's saved me from buy a junker or 2.
Thaks for the advice but it has already been 3 weeks without my truck and I am getting a lot of pressure from the wife to chit or git. I have looked outside my area code and really don't see a huge difference in price. That King Ranch I just posted a link to is a couple hour drive from here. There are a couple in Indiana I may look at also but I would only have time on weekends to travel for truck shopping. I also have a wholesaler looking around for me so I am going to wait and see what he finds also.

The red and silver Scab that you posted the link on that the guy wants $14,998, that appears to be the best of the bunch you've posted. While the King Ranch trucks are plush and nice, the 5.4 engine scares the heck out of me. Between the spark plugs bad, bad injectors that can cause catastrophic engine failure, and the cam phasers, and the fact that there is zero warranty or help from Ford if it goes south. I would avoid the 5.4 engine in anything older than a 2006. I'd suggest staying with the proven and reliable 4.6. Mine gets me about 17-19 mpg town and up to 24.5 hiway on a good day when I'm not in a hurry. Otherwise I'm still over 20 mpg hiway even at 80 mph. That's not bad and it certainly will beat the socks off of a Frontier or a Tacoma mileage wise and you still have a full size truck. I'm sure you can drive pretty hard and get worse but the 4.6 has been a fabulous engine. That's why it's been on Wards Ten Best Engines in the World list for over 10 years now. I'd beat the guy out of 3 grand on the red and silver truck, get some decent tires for it and call it good.
Thank you guys for all your input. I really do appreciate it. I just won $900 on the Superbowl so I am in one helluva good mood right now. I was hoping Arizona would win but win it came down to it I had to go with the money. I never gamble so I feel like I won the lottery. Tjk_in_cny, thanks for the links. I will check them out tomorrow after work.
I am going to look at the Red/Silver 4.6 right now. They already lowered the price by a grand today. Will report back later or tomorrow as I am tired as hell from Super Bowl Sunday.
I test drove this truck tonight. He has now lowered the price by 2k since the weekend. It was dark by the time I drove it but I felt like I was driving a new truck by how clean it was. I am going to stop on the way home from work to look at it in sunlight. So far this truck is on the top of this list but there are still a few others I want to look at.
Cheers!

Is it a 4x4, I didn't see 4x4 in the Advertisment but it has 4x4 decals on the box. If no 4X4, NADA.com clean retails that truck @ $11,775.00 with those miles (31200). That's cool it's a 4.6L. What will he take for it at this point.
