FX4 2004 5.4, Trans, Harness and Computer

Currently have a 1999 F-150 4x4, 160k on tired 4.6 and transmission with hard shifts.

Pretty much everything on the FX4 has been stripped exception engine/trans. Hard right front-end crash, radiator didn't make it to the engine. Mileage unknown until cluster can be remove and plugged into working dash harness. Been sitting for a little over 9 months. Engine and trans are both very clean, still in the truck under cover with no visible leaks. 2250.00 package deal.

Any 04 experiences good or bad with this eng/trans combination?

How's the price considering the unknowns?

Thanks..Randall

sounds like a good price

however is the '04 ECM compatable with your dash/guages/electronics? will the old transfer case interchange with the 4r74 trans? or will the FX4 transfer case work with your truck? how are you planning on installing the drive by wire system in your '99?

My initial interest was specifically on the engine which I've read tons about the swap on this forum. I was under the impression any 5.4 would bolt up to what I have now with a few considerations on harness and existing packs vs cops.

The transfer case is still bolted up as well as the cluster. The rearend code is H9 as is mine and we verified the tags on both as 3.55s which got me a little more interested in the whole drive-line. Exception the wreck snapped the driver side axle and warped the tube.

I'm over my head on alot of this and honestly, I am not savvy at all on the interchange capabililties and need lots of guidance and counsel to consider this or any upgrade project.

I appreciate the reply and any help with those considerations in mind.

Thanks..Randall

Any 2v will work. Changing to a 3v would be to much hassel.
