Fuel pump wont run, car just spins over. I hit it with starting fluid, it fires right up. Let it run for a few, shut it off, key on, then the pump will run just fine and car will start every time. No power complaints, just after sitting over night, the pump will NOT run until forcefed with the good ole "e"

 

i wonder if fuel pump going bad? When you cycle the key few times the pump will build pressure ! just a guess tho

 

yes it builds pressure,how much I am not sure

 

Throw a gauage on it and see !! lol

 

Are you sure it isn't just losing it's prime?(so to speak) Did you try turning the ignition switch off and on about ten times before trying to start? This wouldn't help if you don't hear the pump run for a second or two each time the switch is turned on. Just a thought. I'm just curious, What year is your Taurus?

Check for loose/corroded pins at the power distribution box for the PCM power and fuel pump relays.
