Cool Trying to get to 400hp?

Is the only way i can get to 400hp is to throw a supercharger on or will a few smaller engine mods get me close? '05 f150 xlt 5.4 triton with k&n cold air intake. Thinkin about edge evo. Programmer, and a cat back flowmaster or magnaflow exhaust.

Probably to the crank just because to the rear wheels i know is almost impossible w/o a blower.

long tube headers, efans, underdrive pullies, exhaust (borla roush or magnaflow have better results), tuner. dont know where exactly that will get you but it'll get you higher up there like 60+hp maybe

You're pretty much dreamin if you want to get to 400 without a blower in these trucks inless you have cams and heads. I have pretty much every bolt on minus under drive pullies and trust me I am no where close. I have an S&B, pacesetter longtubes, highflow cats, true duals, E-fans, and custom tunes. My truck is a lot faster but it's still a dog. Next for me is bigger injectors, fuel pump, and procharger

Banks has that setup with the intake, headers, programmer, and blower that puts over 400 at the wheels. Just buy the Roush kit so I can live vicariously through you...

400 at the wheels or at the crank? They say the 5.4's are 330 at the crank stock getting to 400 at the crank should be doable. Long tube headers=30 hp edge=15 that gives you 375. a few more odds and ends could put you over 400. 400 at the wheels is an entirle different story. No way to do it without forced induction. You would need about 525hp at the crank to make 400 at the wheels.

HI!... 400RWH.P in N/A trim is doable. Guys on the mustang boards are doing it with 4.6's. The 5.4, 3-valve is rated at 300H.P at the crank. Not 330H.P. It is though 330C.I. LOL! My fully built 5.4, 2-valve made 354RWH.P with 8.4:1 compression and pump gas. With a good dyno tune and say 10:1 compression, 400RWH.P is there. Do the same mods I did, to a 5.4, 3-valve and you can make 400-425RWH.P. It's been done already. Just depends on how much money you want to spend. I picked up 103RWH.P with just heads and cams.

trucks just aren't built like race cars. perhaps instead of building your truck to 400+ hp, maybe you could lighten it a bit? Remove some weight, maybe make it lower so it can handle?

Even then, you're getting into Mustang territory.

heres what i would start with:
Bolt ons:
headers (long tubes)
exhaust
intake
efans
underdrive pulleys

engine:
cams
heads
pistons

what ever you do to get there is going to cost you ALOT of money.

Noone likes hearing this, but why not a 100hp shot of NO2? If you do it right, with the right module. You can enter in, digitally, all your trip points, alarm shutoffs, etc.

Running a 100hp NO2 will not only get you there, but you wont be there unless you need it. Of course, it does require new nozzels,et al.

Worth looking into though.
