when i dropped my 4r70w, i left the torsions alone and moved the other cross member that has the fabtech links on it all the way back. i was able to drop the trans that way, i dropped the t-case seperately out the back. that things heavy so you might want to look into using a jack if you can.

there is no manual shifter linkage on the tcase, its on the trani, you may be thinking of the 4x shifter linkage?I am talking about the trani I got the metal bar/bracket off the trani so i am good to go now. Just that bolt on the outside and jank it off with some force and love haha!

yeah joey made the t-case benching sound easy until i about cried when i tried it. its probably a solid 100# and awkward... it didnt help things that i lost my ability to lift things like that when i ran my hand through the press. ironically the hand i didnt run through the press i damaged from trying to compensate too much for it. beware the angles of your hands/forearms

i wasnt sure you were talking about a manual shift t-case or not after i read that post a 2nd time.

haha yeah I dunno what that tranny weighed, but it took all I had to push it back up there in place without a jack! I would suggest getting a tranny jack!

I have a trani jack adapter but i dont have the height in my garage to lift the truck up as far as it needs to go for the trani and jack to clear... The adapter is about a foot tall, and my garage is low ceiling, im debating on pulling it outside quick but its 30 degrees and snowing! Im gonna try to make a cradle out of wood and use the adaptor platform so its about a 6 inches shorter. So you say definitally take the t case off first?...

We were able to get the trani and tcase out pretty easily together at the height its at, makes it easier.
