change is coming,
i expect to see a hybrid version of every car and it would not surpise me if they lower the speed limit.
i dont think toyota ever thought they could take over the truck market, they just want a peice of it, which they will have.
what everyone falls to see is that they have the know-how and more importantly the cash to impact any market they deside to.
you look at them and see that they dont sell as many as ford or chevy, what you fail to see is that everyone that they sell, is one that ford or chevy missed out on, in the long run , ford and chevy will hurt more than them.

I tend to agree with you there - change certainly is afoot. Smaller pickups will come back again (I would have a baby pickup in a heartbeat but I'm still renovating my house and it's nice to be able to fit a sheet of drywall or what have you in the back, although I am contemplating getting a trailer), and Toyota's naturally the leader in small pickups already. I suspect they are better engine builders and usually have a better build quality. Of all the vehicles I've owned, the Fords have been the ones with the workmanship or design issues.
The other point to note - the others may sell more trucks but Toyota almost never discounts - they sell at a premium and usually their resale is better. If they stick to their prices, they probably make more, selling fewer.

Did you hit your head trying to get out/in that little Honda - Duhhhh. - Freakin Comy Bastid!
You'll spend more money towing that Honda around every time one of the rubber bands snaps and leaves yuh stranded.

The comment in post #78 was for all the people who choose to drive their gas guzzzler instead of a fuel efficient car that they have access to. Exxon loves you.

The thread is geared toward reliability issues - I really don't think you buy a truck for mileage

Anyway,
Guess that's why you don't make sense.. To me that is... - So go ahead, p^ss off EXXON and on your country men, I don't give a frogs fat a$$
- Watch your back, there's quite a few people in this country of ours and you might as well stab us all in the back buying a Honda.

the problem graph kinda contradicts the results unless im reading the graph wrong. Toyota 1 problem per 159 vehicles sold Ford 1 problem per 204 vehicles sold.

oh thats right since 1948, and they are still the number 1 truck sold in the world to date. Dependability must be really bad to do those kind of numbers.
