4.6L Ignition

4.6L Ignition
Hey guys i have about 85k on my 2000 F-150. I have the 4.6L in it and I was planning on changing the spark plugs soon. I know that motorcraft plugs are the best but should I get the regular platinum plugs or the fine wire platinum plugs? I know the fine wire plugs are supposed to be better but do they last as long? Also, is there anything else I SHOULD change with the ignition such as the wires or coil packs?? My truck runs fine I just want to put new plugs in because they've never been changed and do any other necessary ignition maintenance.

The fine wire plugs last in my four six about 60k miles. I for one think this is ok, because, I haven't (and will never) jumped on the bandwagon with people saying a plug should last 100K miles.
If you are not planning on doing anything extravagant with your truck, just get the COP's from ebay. They cost less and have a guarantee. Now, it is your choice to replace the COP's. Obviously they are working just fine now. I myself would change them (and get the ones from ebay) because, I already have them out, and, don't really like doing any job twice. But hey, that's just me.
Good Luck!

Then the PI transition 2001 with that motor. 5.4L's PI transition was earlier, in 99. It's easy to confused
As far as "COP's" - Acell has the worst record with there individual coils so far. Many DOA posts in the past along with premature low grade misfire failures soon after install.
I'm not sure how Acell "coil packs" rate. Most users here have had good luck with the MSD coil packs.
Global COP's have the best record as far as individual coils on this site.
