PI Heads Swap

So, I have a question. To all those who have done a PI head swap or just got their heads "worked" on. Which casting are you guys using? I really want a set of Romeo's but I have found a deal on some windsor's. I was gonna get BBK valvecovers, and Aftermarket Cams with bolt on gears anyway, but what casting do you guys have? Thanks.

Cool

HI!... The WINDSORS are preferred by most. Castiung # doesn't matter. All ROMEO P.I heads are the same. All WINDSOR P.I heads are the same. The only difference is that in "03" the heads got additional threads in the plug holes.

Ok, so looks like I'm getting 99 windsor cast PI mustang heads. So they will be built for boost and lots of it, what does someone suggest for "fixing" the threads. I have heard Helicoils are the way to go, but I have never been a fan? Thanks Again.

Great I was hoping you would chime in, were you lucky enough to get the 03 and up casting or did you have the "lesser threaded" heads?

Cool

HI!... I bought my FOX LAKE heads through MIKE TROYER at TROYER PERFORMANCE. Mike had titanium thread inserts installed from JDM.

Well I will talk to "Porters" and see what I can get. I have a quote of $600 for full P&P, 5 angle valve job w/oversize valves, and port matching for whatever intake I come up with. But I'm hoping for the TI inserts but Ill see. I'm going to install them on a shortblock, and do a weekend "switcheroo" in Fri night out to the tuner on Mon Morning so it will be a while but its starting. My email is joshbramac@yahoo.com. Thanks guys for all the insight.
