Throwing code P0232.
Throwing code P0232.
Alright, i have a 1997 4.6L f150. Today i went out to go pick up an engine hoist with a friend and turned on my truck and it was idling rough, yesterday it ran fine no problems. I checked the codes using my edge and it came back with p0232. After searching the forum threads i found that it might be a relay, which in mine mind would explain why it happened overnight. Is there any other suggestions or things to try?
Mine would throw a 232 everytime I reprogramed and didn't remove the fuel pump fuse as suggested. It's a Fuel pump secondary ckt high voltage code, and the pcm sees it when programming with the fuse installed.
Is there a reason this just happened now and not the first few times i programmed using the edge. I should have mentioned i have had the edge for about 4 months and this is the first time i have had this happen, or at least noticed it.
Well the code and the rough idle should have nothing in common. The code was always there after a change, but went away after one clearing. If you don't check the codes often then it could be doing this everytime, and eventually "timing" out and getting cleared.
well if the code and rough idle have nothing in common why am i not throwing a code saying i have a miss firing cylinder? Also could a bad fuel pump relay cause a miss fire?

Maybe you don't, my truck misses like a SOB when its cold, but I have never had a code and nothing shows up on the IDS, even the Ford MasterTechs can't track it down. I'm a pretty good driveabiltiy tech, but we can't find it. I would suggest checking and cleaning the IAC.
