I forgot that I should just zip a copy right along your way just to prove to Jbrew that I'm not full of it....how silly of me to not realize that. How old are you ...like 12 or something....grow up a bit.....as mentioned before taking criticism is definitely not your strongpoint.....I wasn't even criticizing you either...just pointing out that there might be more to this problem ...and "oh my god Jbrew don't freak out" but there might be more than one way to figure things out other than yours...................Before you go jumping on your little pedastal just try to realize there are those of us who do have good things to add to a problem such as this...you didn't need to come off like an A**...so sorry my post offended you.....how about trying to come up with something better to help this guy out other than trying to slam my credibility....This was more of a miscommunication between the two of us however you seem to lack the maturity to settle it like an adult. I bring real world experience to this forum, something I think you lack...I just want to make sure the OP is informed, nothing personal towards you, so puhleeeez take your a**hat off now and move along.......

Ha!! I see you sent your pal over to the "Other Powertrain" forum on this site. He or she's doing a good job over their cutting down Jordon not Mike - Who's another long time member of this site, who also has helped many in the past. Don't think for a minute you freaks are going un-noticed!!!

You guys, you two are pair all right .. Keep it up you piece of sh^t, your making as many friends as your buddy. I new you guys were related - it's transparent
Well I don't know either one of you. I'm not here to correct anyone, I'm here trying to get the RIGHT info to the poster. I don't care who is wrong, or what it is about, if the info they are giving out is opposite what I know is 100% correct, then I will add in. But I'm sorry, lower gears don't give your truck a higher top end than taller ones, the coils on any EDIS Ford Ignition except COP do work like that, and 24lb/hr injectors and a tune don't add 100ft/lbs of torque at part throttle. Look If someone has a problem, come to me, the gossip is high school B.S. If you don't want my help thats your decision, but I'm a Ford tech and have access to Ford's PTS website and all their service publications, so I have the correct anwsers, whether anyone wants to believe them or not.

Clean all ports and check all lines and hoses before buying parts.

Look inside the port on the plenum itself. Where your EGR bolts up to. That's the port that can get clogged up. If that is clear for the most part and your rubber hoses are in good shape - (the hoses attached to your DPFE) Then your DPFE is bad.

Make sure they order the right one for yuh - that style DPFE wasn't that common.

Also , be careful using the vac tool on the EGR valve (No more than 5 Hg I believe ?) You don't want to blow out the diaphragm. I was pushing the limits in this pic. But if it holds @ 5 - your good

Since you do have a vac pump it will make it that much easier. Pull vac off the top of the EGR...the engine should stumble and start to sputter as the vac increases...if this is the case then your EGR is functioning normally, and the problem lies in the DPFE sensor. The style that you have is the most commonly failed on these.

Also as Jbrew said the port can be a problem however they tend to clog up near the throttle body and it may not be so apparant by looking through the part where the EGR valve bolts up.

He has the valve off the truck - he can just bench test it with the vac gun now can't he? Oh well, just don't pump it up to much..

Sure can for testing the valve....it can be tested on the vehicle too to prove out the ports since the throttle body can be removed if needed without pulling the EGR off....no loss either way...at least with it on the vehicle the fucntionality of the entire system can be checked, including back probing the DPFE if need be.
