I've just checked the parts stores around Indy and so far no one has the Champs. I wish they would get them soon cause I'm ready to give them a shot.

Ok, under the EMISSIONS WARRANTY, it says
EMISSIONS DEFECT WARRANTY COVERAGE
During the warranty coverage period, Ford Motor Company warrants that:
• your vehicle or engine is designed, built, and equipped to meet - at
the time it is sold - the emissions regulations of the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA).
• your vehicle or engine is free from defects in factory-supplied materials
or workmanship that could prevent it from conforming with applicable
EPA regulations.
• you will not be charged for diagnosis, repair, replacement, or adjustment
of defective emissions-related parts listed under What is Covered?
on pages 13-15.
The warranty coverage period for:
• Passenger cars, light duty trucks (vehicles with a GVWR of 8,500 pounds
or less, or over 8,500 pounds if certified to light duty emission standards)
— 8 years or 80,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for catalytic converter,
powertrain control module, onboard emissions diagnostic
device, natural gas vehicle (NGV) module (Bi-fuel/CNG), electronic
emission control unit, and transmission control module;
— 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for all other covered
parts
.
What am I missing???

For items that are covered for 7/70,000, it says to see page 20... Page 20 has absolutely no mention of COP's or plugs.

If there was any hint of truth to your claim of 8/80,000 warranty on plugs, I'm sure we'd be all over that!
My book says 8 years 80k miles, I am in California, maybe it is longer here, but I thought it said Federal emissions warranty.

Well I just checked at O'reilly's and the good news is, that the warehouse in my area has 192 of these on order. They said check back in a few days and the plugs should be at the warehouse and they will be able to order these. The computer screen said they are double platinum.

The bad news is the price for them are $20.99 each. The guy behind the counter about crapped his paints when he saw that price. I figure I'll get these and see how they work. If everything seems ok I'll probably just pull them every 30k miles or so to see how much carbon is built up on them and clean them off. Who's to say that even though these are a 1 piece design that eventually they could get enough build up on them that they could still seize and try to twist apart on removal.

If they are a true one piece wouldn't you strip the head before you twist them apart? A whole new problem......nice.

I'm banking on poor fuel quality being the main culprit that leads to the carbon deposits on the plugs. Mine were pulled around 30,000 on a spark knock TSB and none of the plugs had any deposits on them at all.

I'd still like to try a one piece plug. It just makes so much more sense.

I called Troyer Performance earlier in the week and ordered the Brisk plugs for mine. Mike recommended these when I was talking to him about doing a custom tuner for my truck. When I get them, I'm probably going to have the dealership change them out the first time, just in case one breaks off in the head then it is their problem and it is still under warranty.

I tend to agree, that is why I use nothing but Shell/Mobil when I gas up!.......

Hell, if they work, I'll pay $30.99 and smile walking out the door. I would think that once the old crappy two-piece ones are out and we have a new 1 piece plug to install with antiseize, it will be an old issue and hardly ever talked about again. If I can get the dealer to get the old ones out without disaster and put a new 1 piece in, I'll attempt all future plug changes myself at a more frequent interval. If they are double platinum, I'd check them every 30k and clean them off, reantiseize and push them for about 70-100k max.

The Brisk plugs are a one piece design and got all 8 for about $135 including shipping. That calculates out to less then $17 a plug. For a one piece design, I think I couldn't be happier.

Does anyone know how E85 gas will affect the plugs? And hopefully they did redesign them for 08 like I hear. I been running E85 for about 2 weeks now; personally I think it runs better than when I had regular gas in there. Plus E85 is 30-40cents cheaper in my area compared to regular 87 at any gas station.
