Unless the EVR control winding goes open or shorted, dirt/gum usually is the problem.
Remove the filter under the round cap and clean/dry it.
Spray clean the insides until the cleaner comes out clean.
Reinstall and try it.
If it still causes a problem, replace it.
What can happen sometimes is water can get into the filter and be drawn into the piston area and freeze in low temps until the motor bay warms up then any issue it causes could disappears until the next time.
PCM = Powertrain Control Module.
Test suspension had been explained. See the line on.... Only results of running without....................
As long as a code is present, there is also a P1000 code present.
At inspection time, the inspection test will be a rejection until the repair has been made and enough drive cycle time is done for the PID monitors to reset if no test faults have been found.

I will do this tonight in the garage as soon as I get home.
I really apprieciate all the help and advice you and others have given me on this. It was getting really complicated and alittle painful. But I think the problem has been solved, BIG RED is rollin again and better than it ever has.
I have tried to duplicate the problem again an it's not there whatever I do. I could before very easily.
COOL!

Hi bluegrass,
I am about to clean the evr,
how do you get the cap off? It will turn but it will not come off. I don't want to break it trying to get the top off.
How to?

Hi bluegrass,
The cap on the evr will turn but it will turn but won't screw off. Does it just pop off? I don't want to break it

Look close. You should see it's helded in place by one way snapon grips.
Take a couple small blades to get under the areas and work the cap off.
Not gaurrenting you won't get some damage but that's the only way to get the cap off.
