That plug looks brass! I've never seen a TC plug that wasn't steel. I'd have to run the numbers as I have no Idea what pressure is in there but if it's enough to balloon some TC's then I wouldn't reinstall a brass plug.

I think it's because my truck sounds like a damn hotrod

You were lucky Joey - (No ticket Cop was cool - not a short basterd trying make a point - I mean I got written up for just having my running lights and lower fogs on ) That was Christmas day.

The second on - he saw the hole-shot all they up to about 80 I deserved that one I guess..

Hell Joey , you did the right thing and cleaned it up and you didn't even strip the threads in the converter - Lucky F'er...

Cool

HI!... Thats why race converters don't have drain plugs! LOL! Glad to hear that it wasn't anything severe.

ok so i go to start my truck this morning and I Heard what sounded like something fall on the converter, now this rattle/metal scraping sound is there. I bet the head of that plug is stuck somewhere hitting the flywheel or converter. Im going to pull the access plate off and see what I can find.....

Cool

HI!... Make sure your flexplate is not cracked, but that sure sounds like your converter is PHUKKED. Hard to hear it in the vid due to the sound distortion from your exhaust. What brand of stall converter are you using? Does it have anti-ballooning plates?

Sounds like my old converter when I ballooned it 28%. LOL!

What is your rev limiter set to? Anything above 5500 with a stock converter is asking for trouble. Blowing the plug is a warning of more problems down the road. Bouncing off the limiter is also not too good for the engine. Ford cuts fuel to limit the rpms. That makes for a lean A/F ratio.

My rev limiter is set to 6k, it can rev to 6200 and be safe with my setup. anyway, i found a few pieces of the head of the plug that blew apart, so i figured that had something to do with the noise, well i couldnt find anything, so i drove it for about 20 minutes, and i hear, ting, and no more noise. I guess a piece of the plug was stuck somewhere, and i can see where it was nicking the paint on my stall, so thats what it was, problem solved!

I am sure that the built engine can withstand the revs, but is the converter able to handle it?
