So what's the advantage anyway- It already sounds like a bada$$ 4 barrel lappin down the fuel when I put the coals to her..

Advantages?...... Hmm... Well for me, there's the hassle of doing it. The fear of ruining something. The feeling of exasperation at NO GAINS! AND the stupid humming noise!

Patman seems to have had good luck with it though...

Yeah , but that's just Patrick - he'll say anything to make his 4six faster than a 5 .4 L

Well, maybe - Depends how it's built. If you turbo charge a 5.4L and add under drive pulleys, E-fans , along with a good cold air intake system w/ 4.10's a 5.4L will smoke a 4six in mpgs..
You ever look at the sticker mpg's at the dealerships. The 4six and 5.4L trucks are very close to the same as far as mpg's. That's what really doesn't make sense - Why the hell would you buy a truck with a 4six???

Not in a million years. Physics doesn't lie Jbrew. All things equal, a 4.6 will ALWAYS get better mileage than a 5.4L No exceptions. Turbos, CAI's and the like do not increase mpg's.

Shoot Chester , Neals NA motor gets better mileage than a stock 4six..A turbo is non restrictive vrs a blower using a belt - if driven normally I'll bet you better the mileage.
