Thank God it's almost over! People are so crazy this time of year!

I went to Autozone the night before last to pick up an oil pressure switch. When I got there, and was about to get out of my truck, I heard this "pop......popop...pop.....poppoppoppoppoppopop.... .........pop" and this little white Honda came screaming into the parking lot. This big "African American" dude, BIG DUDE, jumped out and ran into the store screaming "Call the cops!!! SOMEBODY CALL THE PO-LICE!!!!". It's not uncommon for people to set off fireworks on that street, especially near big holidays, it's the kids "main drag", and that's all I thought it was. I called the cops on my cell and got out to see what all the commotion was.

Well, I walked past that white car on the way into the store, it was still running. It had holes all over it, some on both sides. It looked like somebody had stabbed it with a pencil about 10-15 times. All of the glass on the driver's side was shattered by what looked like several bullet holes, but was still held together by the window tint. All of the holes seemed to be concentrated around the drivers side door, in front, behind, it. Almost magically, he wasn't hit. He had several small cuts on the side of his face from being blasted with glass, but none of the actual rounds hit him. It also looked like a higher-power medium caliber, like a 40S&W, as several of the rounds passed all the way through the door, some of the seats, and out the other door and hit the side of Autozone and some of the empty cars in the parking lot. In about 5-10 minutes, the cops started showing up. A few minutes after that, one of their crime-scene vans showed too. Some of the cops were talking to him and us, the rest were searching the street for casings, and the CS folks were trying to dig bullets out of the car, building, and other cars.

They took him off to the hospital to have his face looked at, a tow truck took a couple cars, and after an hour or so it was all over.

So I bought what I needed and moved on. When I reached Kell, one of the main roads that cut through the city, like two lights up the street, off to the left, I saw cop lights as far as I could see, and they were moving quickly in my direction so I just sat there and waited. A few seconds later, this old Cutlass flew through the intersection with about 12 cops in close pursuit. There were city cops, troopers, sheriffs, it seemed like every car with lights and sirens in 100 miles in any direction was chasing that car. Shortly after he passed where I was, the Cutlass slowed down with brakes locked in a cloud of white smoke, then he did a u-turn through the median and took them all the other direction. Then he was on the road, off the road, on the road, etc. It looked like a red and blue flashing circus. I pulled into a parking lot and watched the mess for a while. I had to use the road they were screwing around on so I didn't have anywhere to go! After a few minutes of this, they went flying North beyond what I could see, so I went home.

Nothing was on the news about it beyond a mention of the shooting that night. But last night it was all on the news.

Apparently, the shooter is still at large and the reason for the attack is still unknown. And the high-speed chase wasn't related. It would seem they were in a minor accident and assaulted the driver of the other car. As it happens, a cop witnessed this and they ran as soon as he hit his lights.

Oh well. Trips to the parts store are always fun, but that was a little insane!!!!!!

Hopefully things will get back to normal as people de-stress after Christmas. I sure hope so. I could live the rest of my life without seeing somebody shot at and almost killed, finding bullets impacts a few feet from my vehicle, and nearly getting flattened a couple lights away!

Holy chit!! Do you live in the red light district lol . That's what they call it in Detroit ( about 100 miles east of me) I had to work out there a few times - programming GPS equipment (in the field) and it's bad out there . Homeless people pushing grocery carts or pulling wagons full of trash. They find headless hookers in the ally's (must of chumped there pimp)

The company I was subbed to had one of there vehicles ripped off while they stood a half a block away. They followed the theif to his house where he parked and went inside. Called the cops and they didn't do anything to the perpatrader because he wasn't in possesion , even with all the witnesses lol

Theres plenty of work out here , people choose not too

I don't get it

No, but I don't have any parts stores near me, so I have to drive across town to get to one.
