HI!... NEVER!!!!! I have a custom built 9" in my PRO STREET RANGER. IMO the best rear axle ever built.

I was just messing around with the farm truck and it has a 9", 31 spline T/L. Do you think I can get enough for it to buy a 9.75 or could I just use it instead? There's a couple of teeth chipped in there. Not chipped bad, just worn I guess. It is a 4X4 that keeps beat up alot.

just replace the ring and pinion with a master install kit on the 9". its what i'd do for myself. weld up new spring perch's (set your pinion angle, there should be a how to "correctly" somewhere)

Just ask JMC, I belive he blew up 3 8.8's before he got smart and switched to the 9.75. He was only making around 300H.P (flywheel) when he broke all those 8.8's. The 9.75 has been proven to withstand upwards of 800RWH.P in stock trim with the LIGHTNING guys. The stock 8.8 in the trucks is only good for about 350-400RWH.P and they break HARD........

mustangs come with a 26-28 spline axel shafts and the trucks use a 31spline.

HI!... I know the MUSTANG 8.8 has 28 spline axles. That's common info that even NOOBS know. We were talking about the "TRUCK" 8.8.

ur comment was that the 8.8 was designed for light mustangs.. and so i pointed out that its got weaker axels. the truck 8.8 has beefier axels rings and pinions which is common knowledge.

HI!... Actually both the MUSTANG and truck use the same ring&pinnion. I know this for a fact due to I used to have a MUSTANG GT 8.8 in my RANGER and used a set of 4.10 gears from a buddies F-150 8.8. Also my buddy KIRK just installed a set of 4.10 designed for a MUSTANG 8.8 into his "94" F-150 8.8. 28 spline is good for light MUSTANGS but not for a 4500-5000LB truck.

welp, i just bled my brakes and have concluded that i have warped rotors..

i dont know if they can be turned because the pulsation gets worse as the rotors heat up.

thanks for the ****ty ****ty rotors Ford, i'll remember that in the futures.

in the mean time im gonna be lookin at replacements soon.

Look at those Brembo's Ube, Carquest Blue pads work the best.. But before that , check out your old pads and how the waring, make sure the pistons are applying even pressure or your going to need calipers.. Make sure your fluids clean or nothin you do will work well.

I can barly touch the pedal and it stops on a dime.. I don't even think my rear drums work any more lol..

my fluid is semi brown looking.

i used valvoline full syn fluid to replace the stuff i was pumping out but i didnt have enough to do a full system flush.

i know my rotors are warped so im not gonna worry about flushing the system untill im ready to have them turned.

i just dont wanna waste the money turning my rotors if there just gonna warp again.

truck has 40,500 miles on the original brake pads.

last time i checked em at 38k miles the fronts has 7mm and the rears had 5mm ..

HI!... The factory rotors warp due to the soft material their made out of. Plus people put aggressive pads on them and really heat them up. I'll be going with the cryo-treated POWERSLOT rotors when I redue my breaks this year.
