Oil recommendations for older F150

I have a 1994 F150 5.0 with 80K that I use periodically for chores, errands and towing a camper or boat. I am interested in knowing recommendations for oil viscosity for winter and then summer. I am not interested in going synthetic. I change the oil and filter every 3K miles and since I've passed the 75K mark, wondering what are the best brands and types to use given my driving/usage of the truck?

Thanks!

if its an older engine, get something with some good detergents in it. i use trop artic in my engines and it keeps them extremely clean. research some name brand manufactures and see what the detergent content is in them. good luck!

I would not change oil. Use the same thing you have been.

Smile Thanks on the oil comments

I usually buy what seems to be the best deal as long as it is API aproved and and is in accordance to the Ford F150 manual's recommendations. I haven't tried the high mileage oils andwondering if they realy make a difference? I'm not going to switch to syn from dino at this point in the truck's life. So will likely keep doig what I'm doing using 5W30 year round unless I do some towing and I'll up the grade to 10W40.
