installed me K&N air intake tonight

its the 77 seriers (the shiny chrome one). Its not as loud as i thought or hoped it to be but it sounds pretty cool. I dont really notice a difference in hp yet but i only drove it down the street about a mile. But anyways i just thought i would put that out there, if anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

You won't notice any difference in HP unless you open the exhaust. More air in equal more air out. Upgrading exhaust first then intake might get you a small diff. in HP.

i do notice a little bit better of a pick up in 1st and 2nd gear. But im still dissappointed in how quiet this thing is. I mean i can barely even hear it when the hood is open and i push the throttle from the engine.

Are these intakes supposed to "sound" different??? I always thought that was a function of the exhaust only.

There is a loud sucking sound when you push the pedal to full throttle. Sounds pretty mean. Also, if you keep you hand on the filter then get someone to press the throttle. The thing sucks in pretty hard to the point where you can feel it move.

I rode in my buddy's truck with the 63 series CAI...when he go on it, it sounded like an old Holley 4 barrel carburator opening up...awesome!

Some have complained of such a loud whistle noise that they removed them.

Go drive around in city traffic for a while. Report back on how your acceleration feels.

To get the most out of your new intake, reset your computer. As it has to re-learn what the engine and it's sensors are seeing, you'll get as much of a performance boost as you can without actually getting your PCM reflashed with a new tune (like with an Xcal2)

I'm not sure which fuses you'd have to pull to keep your radio from resetting as well (kind of a pain in the butt to reset your stations....), but the easiest way is to pull the ground or positive cable off of your battery for about a minute.
