01 4.6L engine seized. will 05 fit???

So like the title says I have a 2001 f 150 4.6l with seized engine. I can get a 4.6L out of an 05 with 17000 miles for 1400 bucks. I know the intake or maybe only the t-body will have to be swapped, because of the throttle by wire, and the exhaust manifolds are different. The million dollar question is, are there any major differences ie sensors in different locations, additional sensors on the new engine etc. I dont want to buy the engine if it will not fit with little modification. Thanks in advance for any help.

Forgot to add that my engine is a 4.6L romeo built and the 05 is also 4.6l romeo built, which makes me think easy enough swap? some one has got to know enough about these 4.6L's. Thanks

It will fit. I dont know off hand if that year 4.6L is drive by wire. If it is, you'll have to use your old throttle body (assuming if still uses the same bolt pattern). Youll also have to re-use your intake setup.
Other than that you should not run into any problems.

Hunt down JMC, he seems to know everthing about the motor swaps, but it should work, you will probably have to use your intake mainfold. Until then, go look at the motor, and compare the two.

I can't see why it wouldn't work. Bolt your intake manifold, throttle body, cables, etc onto the '05 engine and you should be good to go.

The only thing you may want to check is too see if the 05 engine is a 3 valve head and doesnt have the variable cam timing on it. Other than that I cant see why the 01 to 05 motors should fit

The 4.6 3V hasn't made it to the F150 yet, they're still 2V engines.
