Cold air, Spacer, and exhaust

Have a 2001 5.4 4x4 crew cab with 70k, thinking about adding Cold air, Spacer, and exhaust. Drive at 55-75 60% of the time drive around town 25% of the time, tow a boat the rest of the time. Looking for something that will increase MPG, good sound and power when I need it. Would like to say in the under $1000 for it all.

My suggestions are E-fans, chip and exhaust. This will probably set you over your $1000, but not by alot. The spacer, I would use as a sinker when your on your boat fishin', and the cold air kit is worthwhile, but not even close to the e-fans and chip (or programmer)! Just my opinion!

Concur with the TB spacer, take a look at the JLT CAI's, www.truecoldair.com, cat back exhaust, and a tune will help.

Don't bother with the spacer, they're just a waste of money.

A spacer does a whole lot of this:

(that's right. Nothing.)

well put zaairman. But you can all agree that e-fans and especially a chip are a hell of a good start right? The exhaust just sounds good, but there is some gain.

Thanks all... i think i will go with E fan and cold air... might not do a chip or program till later(wait to see if i want to go to bigger tires, think you need program set up for that)... and exhaust before chip. anyone have a tips one which cold air set up and cold air gets the best bang for your buck?

Mine went:
Exhaust (2 weeks after I got the truck) - for sound only. I did gain some, but not a lot
K&N FIPK - helped out the exhaust sound, and the most noticeable performance gains
Troyer Performance Ignition
Superchips 1715 Programmer

IMO:
Exhaust
Cold Air Intake
Power Programmer

My superchips is tuned for the 87 Octane. Before they upgraded the software - it didn't have the option and I had to run higher octane or it pinged.

I like the programmer more for the firmer shift.

The newer models - you can program your computer for tire size changes.

IMHO: Electric fans have a hard time keeping things cool in extreme conditions. You shift the load to the alternator with electric fans. I'd keep the stock fan.

Check that link - that site doesn't exist.
