Engine oil
Amsoil 5w30 oil for me. Filter changes at 12,500 miles and oil change at 25,000 miles. I never make 25,000 miles a year so Its usually just a oil and filter change once a year. Anti-flowback oil filters keep the oil from flowing back to the oil pan so that the engine has some oil available when it is started.
I use John Deere Plus-4 oil. I change it and my filter every 5,000 miles. I use napa oil filters. They also has the anti drain back valve to prevent dry start ups, and the emergency bypass to allow oil to flow if the filter stops up. 160,000 miles and counting!

Castrol GTX 5x-30 in mine, usually with the motorcraft fl-820 or a Fram. My favorite drag racer is John Force so you see the Castrol connection. Who says sponsoring can't pay off. I change it at 4000 km's on the dot and the oil is still good after 165 000 km's.
Oil? Whatever is cheapest at Sam's Club (usually Havoline). Oil filter? Whatever is cheapest at Wal-Mart or KMart (usually FRAM). Change my oil every 5000-6000 miles (no time limit).
I never have had an engine problem with Dino oil (can't say that about synthetic)... I can buy a lot of ammo with the money I'm not wasting on Mobil, Purple or Amsoil.

Motorcraft
I use Motorcraft 5w20 and a Motorcraft FL820 filter. Every 3,000 miles on the dot. Remember, it's not just about an oil change. It's an important preventive maintenance interval to check out everything.
I use a Motorcraft Filter and Mobile1 5W30 Synthetics. I change every 3K, but I'm about to switch back to regular motor oil because the cost of all this crap is getting way too expensive.
I've run synthetics in my Truck & Harley, and only regular (cheapest) oil in my Saturn & Nissan Quest with no problems. My Saturn has 225,000 miles and my 2000 Quest has right under 150,000 miles. My next oil change in the truck is due in about 1200 miles, and it's getting DINO oil for now on. I will still stick with Synthetics for my Harley because it's Air Cooled.
