THE H.P FREAK'S "SUPER FREAK" 5.4 BUILD UP!! (pics)
Neal where/who are you getting your trans parts from?
The new one he just built for me is supposed to be good for 650RWH.P. I guess only time will tell if it's up to the task.
Gad, even my 1970 + Norton Commando's uses sintered bronze valve guides as replacement parts and they also include seals intake and exhust. Cast Iron, What?

Hi Neal,
Hopefully everything will be in good shape now so that you can enjoy your truck after all of the challenges that you have had.
All we need is some more vids aand dyno numbers

HI!... Well the new tranny seems to be working out fine. Went to the local S/R's last night and cleaned up 4-0. Ran a FOX BODY MUSTANG, 302, 90/10 drag struts, 50/50 shocks out back, 5-speed, headers, exhaust, FIPK, pulleys, 3.73's, and a 75H.P shot. Raced hime twice and got him by 2 truck lengths both times.
Then I ran a COBALT SS with stage 2. I gave him "THE HIT" (1.5 truck lengths) and still beat him by 4 truck lengths and I let off before the finish line.
Finally I raced a "05" SRT-4 stage 3 that has run a best of 12.5E.T at the dragstrip. He was on street tires and I beat him by 1.5 truck lengths but he was coming on very strong on the top end!!! He would beat me at the track but with his street tires he spun quite a bit on the launch.
Was supposed to run a twin turbo RX-7 but the owner pusssed out and never showed up. I made all these runs on my 100 octane "KILL" TROYER tune with VP MS-109 in the tank mixed 50/50 with SUNOCO 94.
If work allows I'll be getting back on the dyno this SAT to get about 4 hours of data logging done. Truck still has never been properly tuned. A/F's seem good but I believe my timing is only down around 22-24 degree's where it should be around 28-30. Will be trying both the 94 OCTANE and 100 OCTANE "KILL" tunes.

I figure it will be somewhere between 300 and 340RWH.P after the final tune. Right now it's probably making around 315RWH.P is my guess.

HI!... I forgot to mention that I got to race a "04" LIGHTNING last night on the street. I pulled up on his right at a red light. I was about 4FT from being even with him. Him and his passenger were checking my truck out due to they heard the cams at idle. I don't know if he was modded or not but it sounded like he might have at least a after market exhaust system. The light turned green and we both left slowly when all of a sudden he nailed it! I was ready and instantly punched it! Right off the bat I made up the 1/2 truck length he had on me and proceeded to pass him, putting a 1/2 truck length on him in my 1ST gear. Then stupid me I glanced over to see where he was and I hit my rev limiter BAD!!! Even after the shift into 2ND, I lost a good second in acceleration. He made up the distance I had on him and we were neck and neck. Then my power band started to kick in around 4000RPM in 2ND gear and I started to slowly pull him. Went into 3RD and was still pulling slightly when we had to slow down due to traffic up aways. He gave me the thumbs up and turned off left. I wish he would of stayed next to me a bit longer due to the local S/R spot was 5 minutes away and I would of luved to run him again without hitting the dam rev limiter. I bet I would of put at least a truck length on him at the 1320. I would of luved to of seen his face if I had time to tell him I'm "N/A"............

HI!... Well I had the truck down at WP RACING today to dyno and datalog the truck. This is the 1ST time since the new engine has been installed that I've gone in for data logging. Made out pretty well I guess for a N/A 5.4.
Best run was 353.5RWH.P and 391RWTQ. A/F's need a bit of tweeking and the timing needs to be played with a bit. Mike Troyer will take care of that in a bit. Hoping to break 360RWH.P and 400RWTQ after the next tune. These are SAE #'s and the dyno cell was about 72 degree's.
I'll post up some dyno sheets as soon as I get them. JOEL the dyno owner will be e-mailing them to me before MONDAY I hope. They were having problems with their printer while I was there.
*****I also raced a slightly modded LIGHTNING tonight. It's been kind of a grudge match between us for over a year now due to he thinks that a N/A truck can not beat a SC'ed LIGHTNING. He runs 13.3's (E.T). We were both on NITTO 555R 305/45/R18 drag radials. The 1ST run I lost to him by a fender due to I forgot to shut my O/D off and the way my truck is tuned right now it will automatically shift into O/D 1.5 seconds after a 2nd to 3rd upshift is done at WOT. I had him the whole way until the shift and he slowly passed me at the very end. We let the trucks cool down a bit while others raced and went at it again. This time I made sure the O/D was "OFF". I ended up beating him by 1/2 a truck length that time.
I also raced a severely modded HONDA CIVIC COUPE with a after market turbo set-up running about 20PSI and on drag radials. I beat him by about a fender as well. That was one quick little ricer! LOL!

Guess your truck is even meaner than even you thought! Sweet! Nice buildup.--DIY
