Can someone point me to a description write-up of the Triton 5.4 motor.

Want to learn how it's designed... thanks

 

Sorry I can't add to your question - but I'd like to read about the 5.4 as well....when Ford 1st started using it, how it has been refined over the years, etc.

 

From what I've briefly read so far... (No tech specs yet) The 5.4 is a very popular and award winning motor.

I can't believe the blown plug issue is never brought up. Must be a very isolated occurance.

 

I read in your sig that you are "on the prowl for a 97-99 reg cab 4x4"

My dad looked for one for about six months before finally giving up and going with the 4.6. I have only seen a few on this forum -- probably most were special orders. If you find it, grab it.

Search on Wards website, I remember they gave some awards to the 5.4. It was one of the 10 best engines several years in a row.

I have seen an article written up on how they ran the 5.4s at 5000 rpms for so may hours, tore them down and had virtually no wear on the bearings etc. Also seen endurance testing with heat and cold cycles. I just wish I would have saved the websites/articles. This was years ago when they first came out with the 5.4.
