acetone?

hey everyone i know there was a huge arguement like a month ago on this but now that i have been reading more and more threads where people have said they used it, im thinking about it. It was a touchy subject before i know, but iwas wondering if someone that has used it could tell me the pro's and con's of the stuff. im just a little skeptical of pouring forgeign fluids in my gas tank but if so many other people have done it, why not?

Racer,
I hope you don't mind me sending the text of the article via email but it explains more than I can. I've been using it for 7 months and have not had any problems. I believe the octane rating for acetone is 150; 7 oz to a tank is not enough to harm the engine octane-wise.

I retransmitted the info. On your profile, it doesn't show your email address. You can reach me at repealnow@hotmail.com if you don't get it again.

If you do use it I would recommend pouring the acetone in the tank before filling up. The gas going in the tank will help mix the acetone.

Zap, save your energy. They like to play amateur chemist.
They have no idea about what happens or what results there looking for.
I saw the article there referring to and blew it full of holes, it;s BS.
Letem go and have there fun. You will alway have people who try to report improvements in nonsense because they what to believe in it.

someone should probably just delete this thread since a couple people are just looking for trouble. I just merely asked if anyone has used it and what they found.. not the opinions of a couple yahoos that are looking for trouble.

I just put some in the tank of my weed whacker and my lawn mower. They ran okay and did not blow up yet. Yes, when most are shoveling snow I have to run the lawn mower in Tucson, Arizona.

Zapster, Blue Grass,

What info do you have that disproves the article? I'm not a chemist but I could understand the intent of the article's author on lubedev.com (the website has since been taken down). I am equally interested in your opinion.

I'm a user of acetone but have attempted to not indicate it's a performance improver, merely an additive that may assist in combustion.

Please reply with your info that disproves the articles information.

im also curious... i could see if you were skeptical like i am about using it. but i never said it DID or DIDN'T work. if you have used it and it ruined something of yours then i would agree it is bad. but if you have never used it and are going by what a friends friends brother told you then i would have to say its not accurate information
