dyno'd the truck today

It was raining out today, so I decided to get the truck strapped to the dyno to check what kind of improvements my mods made. I also have pics of the dyno sheets in my gallery. I'll be doing this again on a clearer day the guys at the dyno shop told me that the numbers would be lower due to the weather.

Before mods
Stock 5.4L with K&N replacement airfilter.
Ave. Max HP @ rear wheels is 197.7
Ave. Max TQ @ rear wheels is 319.4
Max HP @ rear wheels is 203.4
Max TQ @ rear wheels is 327.7

After mods
5.4L with JBA Cat-Back,Superchips Micro Tuner, and modified Volant Intake.
Ave. Max HP @ rear wheels is 211.2
Ave. Max TQ @ rear wheels is 359.8
Max HP @ rear wheels is 212.2
Max TQ @ rear wheels is 373.2

My Ave. Torque gain was 40.4 ftlbs over stock
and
My Ave. Horsepower gain was 13.5 hps over stock.

So, what do you think was it worth to spend
$61.85 per Horsepower gains and $20.67 for the Torque

"So, what do you think was it worth to spend $61.85 per Horsepower"

That is great news! That means my 200+ horsepower 4.6l is worth more than $12,370 bucks! Woo Hoo!

Smart asses

I'm not disappointed I was glad to see I didn't lose any power as I have seen has happened to others. hopefully when I do this again on a drier day my HP numbers will be more of what I expected.

AZ_,

No offense intended. I was just trying to be funny My '98 is still stock but I want to MOD it. I just can't decide what to do first. I think it will be electric fan(s) then taller tires then MicroTuner.

Good Luck with your Truck,

Bill

wmcnally--

I'd advise you to call up Mike Troyer at Performance Products in Va. He is a site promoter and one hell of a knowledgable guy when it comes to these trucks. You can find his phone number on his signature in the Computer Chip forum (Superchips_Distributor is his online name). At lease run what you want to do by him. He will be able to squeeze as much HP out of your engine as you want. All it will take is the moola!

Thank You mf150,

I've read many of Mike Troyer's posts. If I knew 10% of what he does I'd consider myself a genius!

Unfortunatly $moola$ is a bit of a problem for a man in my positiion.

I will support Mike and this site to the best of my ability. THEY ROCK!!

I've learned so much here. I just have to figure what I want to do and fit it into my budget.

That looks like great improvements. If you can post the charts, I would like to see them. Also, you should get a little more after 500 miles or so as the computer re-learns the particular engine/driving characterisicts. And as the dyno guy said, you'll be even higher on cool dry days.

AZ,

Don't forget that those are rear wheel numbers. Not bad at all for a chip and inlet mod.
