1997 ford f150 engine
I have a very well maintained 97 f150, it has a v6 engine. I have recently put a small lift kit on it and looking to upgrade my engine to something with a little more power. It is a five died manual transmission, any suggestions on what motor to get, that would be a pretty easy change out.

OP, as previously mentioned gears would help a huge lot, rather than swap the engine. there are a few other upgrades you can do as well. not telling you not to swap engine, but if you've got a good running truck with a good engine I'd try other avenues first.

[QUOTE=Tasca r and easier to mod the 4.2 for more power. What's your budget?

Steve,
I have a pretty good amount of stuff in the motor to have more power, basic things cold air intake, throttle body spacer, dual exhaust, computer chip. Runs good, sounds good, just wanting to get it beefed up. I have a nice budget put away to make it right, any suggestions?
