Ordered 2011 F-150 FX4 Ecoboost Today
Ordered 2011 F-150 FX4 Ecoboost Today
Hello everyone, I'm new to this site and hope you don't mind me hanging out here from time to time.
Well, I pulled the trigger and ordered a new 2011 FX4 Ecoboost today. The first one to be ordered from my dealer and looking at six to eight weeks before it gets here. I have been following the info on it for quite some time and after test driving a King Ranch with the Ecoboost and a FX2 with Ecoboost pulling a Ford Ranger lashed to a tandem axle car hauler I was sold. I test drove a 2011 FX4 with the 5.0 the day before and I swear the Ecoboost was stronger feeling to me. May have been my imagination but I don't think so. Here's my setup:
2011 F-150 Supercrew FX4 Ecoboost Sterling Gray Metalic
Luxury Package
Navigation
Moon Roof
Integrated Trailer Brake Controller
18" Stock Wheels (will be changing)
Spray In BedLiner
Dark Running Boards
Tailgate Assist
ARE Z Series Truck Cap (after truck gets here)
Bull Bar ( haven't decided which one yet)
I'll post some picks up after it gets here and any comments or suggestions are appreciated.

How firm was the dealer on the 6-8 week arrival estimate? I am just about to order the FX4 with the Ecoboost and my dealer said Ford is not even going to start production of the Ecoboost trucks until March, and I am looking at about the first week of May for delivery.
Maybe the FX4 is the holdup. Otherwise Ford is already building and shipping the ecoboost. Started last week, with buyers confirming the build and ship dates on another Ford forum.

Great minds think alike! This is pretty much the exact truck I was planning on ordering later this year, minus the bull bar.
A few questions.
What was the final cost?
Any other things you wanted but couldnt get with the FX4?
I sure hope they honor X plan later in the year!
Well I definitely did not get an exact date yet but my dealer said he was very confident I would see it around first or second week of March. He said he had a couple Ecoboost's scheduled in his stock order and mine would be bumping one of those if I understood him correctly.
I got the truck for invoice+ $1,500 in rebates at the time. They also knocked off $300 more.
Later this week I received an e-mail from Ford. It was a $500 discount on the ecoboost engine option since I took part in their test drive program. Ford has also been sending out brochures to past Ford customers about the new F150, in the back there is another $750 off with a special code at the bottom.
I am getting a $43,500 truck for a little over $36,000 and I am told I have the first one in the southeast region.

On the cost side i'm at $41,000 with the A-Plan and will qualify for whatever Ford Incentive will be at the time it arrives. Hopefully the incentives will at least be the same if not better for my zipcode.
About the only other thing I could think of that I wanted would have been been a boost gauge. I stayed away from the 20" wheels and opted for more sidewall rubber. A little softer ride and a little more latitude with air pressure when on the beach was my thinking on that one, plus the potholes are something else around here. Michelin tires would be a nice tire choice but I don't think they will be. I'll be dumping the rims and wheels and getting something else later anyway. I do wish you could play a DVD while driving. The wife likes to watch movies when we are on long road trips.
As far as dealer incentives my dealership gives to me:
Lifetime engine warranty (written contract)
$10 oil changes to include the wife's car
Free state inspection
Discount on parts and accessories

I stayed with the 26 gallon but I did consider the 36. I just decided to pass on the extra capacity tank.

Hadn't heard that but think about it. One advantage, less fuel stops but every one of those @ $3.05 gallon is $109
No matter what size tank, I'm still getting the gas I need but I wasn't ready to deal with the psychological aspect of that hit.

I took the Ecoboost test drive and filled out the paperwork last week and maybe I'll get that same email from the test drive with that $500 discount. That would be sweet. I haven't seen the $750 special code coupon darn it. I'll have to check into that.
Thanks for the info!
