Stopped by the dealer yesterday to touch base. No build date yet darn it. I'm excited and impatient at the same time. I've got someone who is ready to buy my 01 Screw but I can't turn it loose yet. Come on Ford lets get to work!!!!

Test drove the Ecoboost a couple of days ago. My local dealer here (Tampa FL) just received two of them. I must say I was very impressed of the power especially in 3rd gear, you can feel the truck pull!! But I still am highly considering the new 6.2L V8 man that thing is a beast! Anyone else out there in the same predicament as I am?

The 6.2 will be a great motor. Performance wise, it will be comparable to the ecoboost.

The positive is it will be easier to work on and maybe more reliable (to be determined)

The negative is your gas mileage wont be great.

Gas mileage wont be to great but it wont be to much worse than what i was getting with my 06 5.4 the power between the 2 is comparable but the 6.2 is stronger/faster I think.

went to the dealer friday and found out my truck was built on the 9th and was scheduled to be shipped the week of the 14th. transit is running at least a week behind. so should have it this week. dearborn is only 25 min. from me wish I could just go pick it up lol

So if you have one on order and your dealer tells you when it should be there have them double check till transit can catch up

I still do not have my build date yet on my FX4. I ordered it on 1/18 so I should get that info any day now.

My salesman called me yesterday to tell me that the Ecoboost traveling test drive truck would be at their dealership and if I was able to come by that I should to test drive one. He forgot that I have already test driven a couple at another dealership earlier in January, anyway, I stopped buy and shot the bull with the Ford Tech with the test truck and test drove one again just for the heck of it.

After yapping for a little while between test drives with other potential customers it was my turn. It was a Lariat 4X4 with Max Trailer Tow Package with about 14000 miles on it. The truck was displaying average 19 mpg from the last driver when I got in. That don't always tell the whole story but we reset it when I got in took about a 10 mile test drive with mixed speeds of 35, 70, and a short burst of 70-95 and I was around 16 to 17 average when I returned to the dealer. I didn't think that was to bad considering.

One question I am still not 100% on and the tech wasn't sure. On my truck I believe, FX4 Supercrew 157" wheel base I am of the impression the 36 gal. fuel tank is what mine will have as standard. When I pressed him on this he said he was told ALL Ecoboost motor trucks will have a 26 gal tank and not 36. Oh well, we'll see when mine gets here or I get a window sticker pic of my specific truck.

Any of you guys with your new Ecoboost. Do you have a 36 gal tank?

Ron

I went in to my dealer today and started the order process... No coupon necessary for the $500 discount on the Ecoboost. Not sure you actually have to produce it. She's a great contact and always does right by me. After it's all said and done, the $43K truck I'm ordering will be $33K (with X-plan). Just ask about the incentives...

I was also told that I should go to ford.com and order a mailed brochure and I might get a $500 or $750 coupon with it... in time for my truck to arrive. (scheduled to be built on 3/28)

Congrats on the new ride.

What was the configuration? I have been looking at ordering an FX4 SCREW LUX. EcoBoost 6.5' bed and that puts me right around 43k as well.

Is the 33k price the x plan price, or x plan and all the incentives? Currently in Va. they are offering about 3k worth for a cash purchase.

Would you mind breaking down the cost a little more for me? Thanks!
