ECO Ordered

Ordered my ECO on 1/6/2011

XLT Screw Sterling Grey
Cloth Bucket Seats
Trailer Tow pkg
Rubber Mats
XLT Chrome
XLT Convience pkg.
XLT Plus Pkg.
Keyless entry
Brake Controller
Sat Radio

Got it at Invoice but had to pay the stink'n FDAF. My dealer said at time that Ford was now asking their dealerships for ECO stock orders. He included my order as part of his stock order and estimated a 8 - 12 week delivery time. They will honor any incentives at time of delivery

I'll keep posting as I get more news on delivery

The eco sounds nice but are you really gonna gain any mileage vs a v8?

Compared to the previous generation V8's it will. Does yours get 20+ mpg? Even when stock?

I get between 17-20 mpg depending on how I drive, and I have a 5.4 3v

Doesn't a retail order get bumped ahead of dealer stock orders? If your dealer just ordered yours as part of his stock won't that slow down the order?

That's not bad for the 5.4. But I'm talking about 20-PLUS mpg while putting down 365HP/420Trq!

But to again answer your original question, yes, I think many will expect to get a significant gain in MPG over the out going V8 engines. Or are you talking about the new V-8's?

According to my dealer they indicated it would be quicker to make it part of his initial order allotment teh to put in a seperate order. Given that Ford had just asked him that week for what he wanted for this job run it seemed to be six of one half dozen of other in the way the order was processed. I hope!

I test drove the Wednesday they were in the Little Rock area. They came to Lonoke and picked me up on my Lunch Break. I purchased my 5.0 STX on 12/30 and received my Information/Invitation pamphlet with $750 customer cash coupon on 12/31. I chuckled when I opened the mail box.

I wasn't looking to purchase an EB so it was no big deal to me. Hopefully yours will show up in the mail.

I learned something today that may be useful. I was under the impression that the 36 gal. tank on the FX4 was an option and in fact it is standard. That is true if it's the 156.5" wheelbase and an option on the 144.4 wheelbase.

On page 82 of the "RE:T 2011 Source Book" (at the dealer) the last line clearly states the 156.5 4x4 wheelbase the 36 gal. fuel tank is standard.

I ordered mine on the 13th and they said as soon as the end of Feb.

BTW the rebates on the 2011 are INSANE, make sure that you're getting all of them. The average guy should be able to get up to $4,500 off in Ford rebates on the XLT. I went with the Lariat got another $3,000 off from the dealer (he was only a couple hundred over his list, I saw the sheet). I've been GM my whole life but this was too good to pass up. I could wait a year and I still couldn't pick up a used Ecoboost for what I paid new.

I drove the 5.0 with 3.55 gears on about an 8 mile highway loop (5 miles @ 58 mph with 2 hard accelerations, 3/4 throttle, traction control off and pealing the tires out for 30' sideways.) (the last three miles were city driving 40mph down to 25mph, 5 stoplights with hard accelerations, 1/2 throttle, traction control off and burned the tires out at all of them) I had the tow haul on for the whole trip to hold the 1st gear shift longer so I could goose the throttle and not have it upshift to second at a light, for easier burn outs. I got 18 MPG on that loop. I was sold after that, and I had to have one. If the 5.0 is that good the ecoboost is going to be incredible. I will miss the throaty v8 sound but when my truck is efffortlessly pulling my trailer I will be all smiles.

I can't wait.

Guess I'm gonna have to break down and so see my friend at our local dealership...

Quick question. Does the FX4 have Limited Slip Diff?

I know it has a locker, but in regular driving is it LSD?

Is the XLT Limited Slip? Im confused on this part.

No, it is open or locked (only in 4x4). There are several threads in the 2009-2011 section.

Ok, So is this a bad thing or a good thing?

I always thought LS was a good thing? Why is there no LS in the FX4? But it has a locker? That doesnt make sense. So if it snows, and I'm in 4x2, and one wheel starts slipping, Im screwed? Until I put it in 4x4?

Is that right?

I had my heart set on a FX4, but this might be a deal breaker. Maybe im misunderstanding.

I believe you can engage the locker in 2wd under 25 mph.
