Looks like he is running a NBS vs OBS. Isnt there a weight difference with pretty much the same engine. Hes also prob running larger tires which might effect it.

the 1st run i did about 2500-3k but i didnt have time to have it there very long and i spun tire all the way thru 1st and spun a little in 2nd. the 2nd run i didnt preload, just launched it like i would on the street i guess from a red light. also the 1st run i did a very short burnout, only like 1 or 2 seconds because my truck usually hops so i thought it was gonna but it didnt. so my tires were cooler, i drove about 60 miles to get to the track and did my time trial about 10 minutes after i got there so they should have been kinda warm already. 2nd run my tires hopped so there was no burnout and that was about 10-15 minutes after my 1st run.

yes there is a difference. i had my 04 heritage which was the OBS and it was a reg cab longbed 2wd V6 manual with 3.08 non LS rearend, it weighed 3897Lbs. my 08 is reg cab shortbed 2wd V6 manual with 3.55LS and it weighs 4364Lbs. so a OBS shortbed would be even less than my 04 was. so figuring about 500-550Lbs more on my truck, that would be probably a second or 2 slower. my only mod is a K&N cold air intake with a helper tube coming from the front bumper and the filter is also VERY DIRTY. i just washed it and it is drying as i type this. so next week i hope it will be different since it will be a clean filter.

you also have a flareside, 97XL has a std box. that might make yours a little lighter too

dude if you had 3.55s youd probably be in the mid 16s with that tuner on there. i will eventually get a tuner but probably not antime soon. right now im working on getting pieces for my exhaust. gonna customize my stock exhaust. its a lot cheaper and i just want it for looks basically. i am keeping the stock muffler because it doesnt sound bad and with the V6 we all know how difficult it is to find one that sounds good. so far i found 2 gibson racing systems that sound awesome but they are about $800 per system, which is way too much for me. and also i found one flowmaster muffler thats sounds pretty good but i think im keeping my stock one for now, just gonna split it into duals after the rear axle. i have some pieces already that i just bought, now i just need the y-pipe and a few bent pieces but i have to get the y-pipe first to figure out the length and bends i need. its gonna look sweet tho.

Yeah those 3.08s suck for launching. There are plans to replace the rear with 3.73 LS and add efans but that will have to wait for next year. I haven't made a pass with the new tires yet, old tires were Firestone Destination A/T 255/70r16s. When I run I empty the bed(spare tire is in the bed), take the tailgate off and I try to have about 1/4 tank of gas. But stock the best I ran was 18.02s so the mods have helped.
