yeah but can you hear it chirp at the 31 second mark? that would be the 2nd to 3rd gear shift at about 50mph.
also yesterday i was making fun of this guy i work with. in my truck i can play around all i want and still get over 17mpg. i was telling someone that on one tank i went to the drag strip, drove about 1 hour going about 85-90mph the whole time except to let off when i got to areas that ive heard cops sit. then doing 2 runs at the track. then driving home and also flooring it up to 100 a bunch of times and still got 17.26mpg when i filled up. then i looked at the guy with his 08 silverado ext cab 4x4 with the 5.3L that has the cylinder deactivation to help gas mileage, and i said "and what is your gas mileage with normal driving?" i already knew its not even 16mpg. he always asks me to calculate his mileage when he fills up. he got 15.7 the last time. and thats driving 60mph thru some country hills, same route i drive to work. he did get almost 17 before he bought new tires and rims which are a little bigger. but hes just cruising at 60, im palying around all day then i still get better MPGs. i think that the cylinder deactivation is crap anyways. my dad has a 2000 sierra ext cab 4x4 with the 4.8L V8 and he gets 18 almost all the time that its in 2wd and its 8 cylinders all the time.

yeah a lot of it has to do with the weight og the truck and also the injectors. Chevy's injectors push more fuel for more power than Fords do

well for kicks and giggles I tried guesstimating my 1/4 time. found a stop light, revved up to 1800-2000, and did a great start. rolled the trip meter between .2 and .3 (1/4 mile) and ended up with a 16.25, 17.14, and 18.44. The 16 was downhill, 17 level, and 18 was going back uphill. So safe to say ~17. Can't wait to go to a real dyno and drag strip.

hey timmyp, check this calculator out:

http://www.aspracing.com/index-5.html

estimating my truck to weigh 4250 lbs, and a trap speed of 80 mph, it will tell you your RWHP. i dunno my trap, im just guessing (80mph) from a few I've seen with equal mods and it says im putting out ~170 rwhp. seems accurate

the weight of your reg. cab, 6 ft bed, 2007 V6 manual is 4615 for the curb weight. if you take off the spare and tailgate (~100-150 lbs) you gain .2 seconds.

well so far that i know, my truck weighs 4364 according to my registration. and with a trap speed of 81.66mph it calculated 185.466HP. my K&N intake dyno sheet said an OBS stock with 125,287miles on the clock was 166.24HP and with the intake it got up to 172.39HP but that was also at 91 degrees F. the day i ran my 81.66mph 1/4 was in the mid 40s plus that intake helper tube i have helps a little. i will have to get my truck weighed and also i just found out about a shop that has a dyno so i might be heading down there sometime...to find out for sure what the RWHP is. thanks for that calculator tho.

haha thats kinda cheating if you do it in 40* weather. i think the standard "dyno day" is like 80-something with a relatively normal humidity.

We went to strip today with brother-in laws challenger srt. Needless to say I ran my hog for ****s and giggles. The fist run I ran 17.88 hitting 78mph. Second run 17.41 hitting 80mph. My brother-in law was running 12's... Regardless I am running 4.6l crew cab 4x4 stuck in towing cause edge evolution got stolen.

Question... Does anyone have exhaust cut outs on a 4.6l? Wondering if it would sound like a pissed off cow.

oh man, i hope i never have that happen. only locked keys in once but i was at home so i got the spare key. but what i do is before i shut the door, i make sure i have the keys in the opposite hand i will be using to shut the door. even if you have a handful of stuff, look to make sure its in your hand. then shut your door. dont put keys in the hand you use to shut the door because sometimes it slips out of your hand while moving horizontally and it still gets locked in. or put them in your pocket and make sure you have them in there before shutting the door. just take the extra few seconds to check, it could save you minutes or hours later.

I didn’t lock my doors for the longest time. We see where this had gotten me. They took my I pod, the edge, and Radar detector. The sad thing is they didn’t know what they where doing. None of the stuff in the back seat was touched subs and .45 sit under the back seat they paid no attention to that stuff.

At this point I am not to sure what I can do. Can I get my computer flashed or re-set by the dealer? This sucks believe me…. I am sure this gives me the Idiot ***** Award of the week…

they probbaly didnt have enough hands to take everything let alone a 30Lbs sub box that they would also have to unhook. gotta admit they were like 1% of the people who break into cars, not greedy. usually greed gets them caught. half hour after they steal your stuff, a cop sees them tripping over a sub box while carrying stuff in his hand and he gets caught. anyways why do you want to get it reflashed? its pretty much stuck on a performance tune right? unless you need warrantee work done, you wont have to change it. or if you get another programmer, then yeah you will have to get it reflashed.

well, i went to the track again yesterday. my buddy with the 04 4.8 silverado was all for going until i called him yesterday and said "TRACK DAY!" then he chickened out saying that his has over 110k on it and blah blah blah. so i picked him up and we went. afterwards he got all exited again and now wants to go next week with his truck. we will see i guess. i think the biggest thing that changed his mind was seeing a buick GNX and when we went over there to look at it, i was saying how those cars could smoke a vette of the same year and that they were one of the fastest cars in the 80s. then the owner said that it had over 115k and was still running in the 11s. that might be what got my friend to realize that 110k isnt too bad on his truck. anyways i ran 3 runs, only won 1 race against an early 80s turbo diesel sierra dually that had a dial of 14.85. his truck screwed up so he gave up during elims.
but anyways i ran
run 1-17.0148@82.26MPH
run 2-17.2992@81.81MPH
run 3-17.0524@81.96MPH
every run was 1st to 3rd gear, never shifted into 4th until after the finish. also my gas tank had 3/4 tank during the runs. the track is about 80 miles away from my house plus i had to go another 30 to get my buddy. was about 75-80 degrees outside. 3rd run it may have been about 70 degrees
so my time from last fall is still my quickest but i beat the speed on that run on all 3 from yesterday. i am wondering if i let off too early on the one last fall where i could have gotten a better time and speed...getting the 82.26mph surprised me especially with having a slower time. also going an average of 75mph on the highway going too and from and also running 3 runs, i did an estimate of my MPGs and got over 21mpg. i calculated it out with about 140 miles on it when it hit the 3/4 mark which would be 6.5 gallons. the mileage was actually 147 but i just rounded down a bit. i will fill up today to see what it really was getting.

EDIT-got gas yesterday and i ended up getting 18.95mpg
