2&3 - where did i say it was a crime? im just saying theres not much fun in a stock vehicle. instead of $20/day to run stock at the track, save a little and go get those freebie mods that are under $100.

If you want to get technical i took my spare and tailgate off when i was doing an over and under detailing of my truck. i took pretty much everything off and before i put it back on i drove it down the road to get all the water out from under the chassis.

and im 18 earning $5.50/hr. I'm willing to bet you are making more than me.
well for one thing, at least you have a job and arent sucking on mommy and daddy. also you can find a job pretty easily that would pay you more, look around a bit unless you really like your job.
altho it was a reply to you, everything i put was not completely meant for you. just pointing it out. and the track is only open once a week so $12 per week isnt bad plus i only went twice. going again next week because my buddy is getting his truck back from the auto body shop and we have been wanting to race "officially" all summer. we did on the street like 5 times with me winning twice and him 3 times but not by much. not bad for a 210-215hp(intake) V6 f150 against a 285hp V8 chevy

actually i think 3rd is harder. 2nd is just a straight pull back. only thing that is challenging is to not spin when you put it in 2nd. i gotta say tho. the 4.2L is a great engine for racing, in a way. almost no power off the line unless you rev it up so it either doesnt spin or it doesnt spin very long. we definitely dont have a lot of traction issues with our trucks which is what my buddys silverado has. that is how i am hoping to beat him. i know if he gets traction, he will get me

Your truck at the crank has 206HP at the most, intakes don't add that much unless your tuned for it. Next cleaning your airfilter is not going to do squat unless it was liked wrapped in mud. So you must have had better shifts or something.

K&N sent me a dyno printout with my intake with a gain of 6.15hp at the rear wheels on a V6 f150 with 124k on it. with mine being a newer engine i am guessing it would be about 7-9hp at the wheels so 10-13 or so at crank. and cleaning my air filter did a lot. i can tell the difference in the seat of pants testing lol. trust me it was not caked in mud but its the worst ive ever let one of my filters go. i have a tube running from the front bumper to the filter for a sort of ram air effect. but i have no screen on it so all the debris gets to the filter. i had a round area in the front that was just caked with bugs and stuff from all the construction zones that are around(all the dust from the jack-hammering and stuff). my buddy could tell too when he rode in it yesterday.

well it was like 45 degrees on the day with the better runs but i cant do a burnout(bad tire hop) so my tires were cold too. colder tires would be LESS traction wouldnt it? day of first runs was like 65 degrees

You have radial tires correct? There's no point in doing a burnout. Doing a 5 second burnout in the WET box (correct?) and then waiting to actually race, your tires will be nearly just as cold and now maybe wet...

You won't feel a difference between a clean and dirty air filter. Especially "seat of the pants". Your not the first to experience the placebo effect.

Dyno sheets companies send with their product are just laughable. A friend got a dyno sheet with his Tornado intake device, should he trust that too?

Going from 65 degrees to 45 degrees is where you picked up all your time, probably along with better shifting, humidity, b pressure, nerves, ect. ect.

this is from last time i cleaned my filter but...ever drive thru a bunch of those stupid fuzzy things that come off those trees? well try doing it for 30 minutes. and i have that tube going to the filter from the front bumper. i popped my hood and looked at my filter turned into a rabbit. my air filter was furry.
also my filter this time was pretty dirty when i cleaned it. dont they say that you lose a few hp and mpgs with a dirty filter. then a clean one should give you your hp and mpgs back. and the day with the better runs, it was about 45 degrees and it rained all day the day before and earlier that day...A LOT!!! the slower runs were on a 60-65 degree day and it didnt rain for a few days before that. wouldnt more humidity be worse? well this week it is supposed to be more like the day of the slower runs so i will have to find out. im gonna get there early this time so i can work on my reaction times. best one so far was like a .65 lol. its cool tho. im pretty good at timing stuff so once i figure it out, i should be pretty consistant i think. plus that will give my buddy a chance to get used to the track. hes worried about spinning tire when it shifts into 2nd. he probably will but he is worried about losing control. he has had his truck for about 1 year and a half but he never plays around so i think he would panic more than know what he was doing to save it if it kicked out. this is his first rwd vehicle and also his most powerful by far.
