Looking for massive powere gains for 4.2L!

Ive got an 08 f150 and for some reason i skimped on the engine and got the 4.2 v6. Ive got a leveling kit and 35's on it now and Im ordering a 12" lift and 40's for it.. I need power and lots of it. Turbo kit... something. I also have 4.56s in the rear.

I'm sorry dude but what you need is a 5.4L. I just don't see a 4.2L doing 35's and a 12" lift. My old 4.2L was good to do itself. good luck

A supercharger is probably your best bet. Don't expect too much though with the mods you're planning.

Good luck!

v6f150.com will help you out. there was a dude on there with a turbo set up on the 4.2 and it was supposedly fast as hell. frankly man your gonna spend an insane amount of money to get that set up to work. the 4.2 is a great little motor but you are going to kill that truck unless you change the whole thing.

Im running a 4.2L in my truck. Im runnin 44's right now. Just went from 40's to 44's.

Im also running 5.38 gears.

and im gonna tell you right now. You will need lower gears aswell as more power.

and obviously you are putting this on your IFS so with the power you need to be effective you will be breaking parts right and left.

I'd take all of that money you are going to spend up grading the 4.2, and I'd either: 1) swap into a 5.4L set up or 2) get a truck that already has a 5.4L. The 4.2L v6 is a very capable engine that will last hundreds of thousands of miles, but it's not made to provide massive amounts of power. Remember, there is no substitute for displacement.

lol yeah remember every decal adds 5hp and racing stripes add 50hp just do that and youll be fine

and being serious this time, the turbo f150 is fast as hell and will beat stock f150 lightnings and keep up with modded ones with upgraded superchargers. he did have vids on youtube but his account got canceled. if you search for it, it is a bright metallic orange reg cab shortbed flareside. looks like a lightning just orange and V6 but he did tons of work to the internals too. i think his screenname was orangef150
