Trimble, have you considered something like a 4-53 detroit motor for the truck? It may be cheaper and they can be very good motors if you have someone that knows how to work on a 2 stroke.

thats a negative. Im lookin at the Cummins for simplicity.

but i will look into it

the old detroits are all non computer controlled like the 12v cummins, they also made v6 motors too 6v71's etc..

they can be turbo motors or NA depends on what you find. I don't know what trannys they mount up to, just do a search on google there is quite a bit of stuff on on them and all the diffrent set ups, a V in the name is a v type motor and turbo ones should have a T. all the motors do have a blower on them because it takes some pressure for a 2 stroke to run since they have no intake valves

Trimble ive got an extra set of 2" drop shackles lying around if you need them

I think you should keep it Ford and do the 7.3 4R100

Not sure how they are where you live but 7.3s here in FL are worth thier weight in gold.

They are like that anywhere in the US if people know what's good for them.

(Dad owns a '02 7.3....I LOVE IT!)

Ive thought about the 7.3L but im liking the 12V better. Less wiring less computer stuff.

I did find a 7.3L with a C6 transmission for 5K which has the complete wiring harness and ECU PCM
