Dealerships really love to "steal your trade" if they can't get the sales price they want. Hiking interest rates is another game they play. Dealers want to make everybody *think* they got a great deal. If you aren't doing your own financing (or paying cash) and negotiating "trade difference" (if you have a trade-in), the dealer will make money elsewhere.
