Seeing what looks like good deals on some used trucks am I wrong?

Maybe its because these are base models but under ten grand for a truck with below 60,000 miles looks like a pretty good deal for me. Will these deals be around for a while?

First one-$7800 2005 5 speed v6 58,000 miles

second one
2008 F150 XL - $9500 44,000 miles

third one
2005 F150 XL 4D 8ft. Bed - $8900 62,000 miles

Yes same thing where I live. XL 2wds are the cheapest. They were probably $20k msrp new, versus some of the higher end models that were $36-50k.

We got out 2008 XL 2wd V6 for about $17k off the lot, so those look about right, not a lot of demand.
That 2008 looks pretty nice, couldn't tell if it had a 5-speed or not though....

actually, did any of the 4.2s come with autos?

Auto was an option in all 4.2's.

I bought my 03 (see sig) in 9/06 with 55k on it for $7700.

I remember back in late 08 when some dealers were blowing out leftover stripped XL's with a 4.2 stick for $9998.

damggggggg..... That would have been awesome to get one.

How gutless is the 4.2 with an auto? It does ok with the 5-speed

The 4.2 is not bad at all. I would buy another truck with it.

Same here the Regular cab V6 trucks aren't that expensive. The Supercab/V8 jumps price quite a bit, especially when you get to the XLT's. You can sometimes find a supercab work truck for cheap, but most of them around here have been used for oilfield work and are in pretty rough shape. Supercrew trucks go for top dollar, especially the 4WD lariat/king ranch.

Hello all from a nebie, I just got a 2001 Scab 4x4XLT w/144K. It was a private party deal for $5800. Came w/custom mag wheels, almost new toyo AT tires, chrome nerf/running boards, bug shield, bed liner, dash liner, upper end pioneer cd w/new set of 4 infinity speakers. It looks near mint and the only thing I could find wrong w/ it were the front brake rotors looked worn out and the seller ( a mechanic) measured the rotor wear and installed a new set of rotors for me. I think I did pretty good. I am excited to own it and be a part of this forum. I need to replace the door actuators (intermitant) and today I am hoping to install the gotts mod.
