Question Trans Temp Guage

I have read where alot of poeple have installed Transmission Temp guages....My question is what type of guages have you guys used and where in the heck did you mount them? Everywhere I look the dash is too rounded, and I do not want to take the driver side assist handle off to put on a pillar mount....

Thanks in advance for the info.

I read a post on this site where someone used the Autometer part # 4357, installed in the transmission pressure port and used an Expedition center console to hold the guage in the cab. Others have installed pillar pods to hold 2 or 3 guages.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I have a outside temp readout in the center console on the roof. Looks like if I really want one I am going to have to get the a-pillar mount....

If all you are interested in is the one gauge, you can buy the single pod and still preserve your assist handle. This is what I did. I think it looks pretty good. I bought the Autometer #3357. It is a 2 1/16" electrical gauge. The face matches the original gauges and you can use the green cover for the bulb to match the dash lights. I chose the electrical because the mechanical does not come in the smaller size, it only comes in 2 5/8". I wanted to keep the gauge as subtle as possible. Hope this helps!

Cool

HI!.... I installed AUTO METER guages and manifolds. Get yourself the MECHANICAL guages, don't go with electrical. The MECHANICAL guages are way more accurate and can still be veiwed working after the vehicle has been turned off. IMO I would not install the temp sender in the pan or the tranny body. The readings will get scewed this way. I would suggest to you to get the AUTO METER tranny temp manifold and install it inline clost the the rad. Here's some pics of my set-up. :
