Transmission falure on read out with O/D off flashing!

Every once in awhile i get a tranny failure on the display in dash, then the O/D off flashes. This will stay till i stop and restart the truck, then it doesn't happen again for sometimes 2weeks or maybe the next time i drive it.

This is in my 07' KR with 75,000 mi. i had the trans flushed and used AMSOIL ATF for fluid replacement. I had the problem before, and after flush.

So, if the experts out there could give some insite on this i would greatly appreciate it.

Any conditions you can think of that are similar when this happens? Temp, driving style and such?

You need to have the codes read. When the error message was displayed one or more codes were stored in the PCM. They will stay in memory even if the error goes away. The places that advertise they read codes free can't read Ford transmission codes.

Not really any other conditions at the time, but it happens at take off! Usually after i have driven for a time, i don't remember it ever happening at a cold take off. It doesn't seem to effect driving when it does happen, i have drove quit a ways before when it has happened.

thanks for the replies .....

Hey Mark, would a evolution programmer read the codes? I sent a EVO to PHP for the gryphon up grade, should be back in a couple weeks. Just so you know, i never had the EVO installed in my truck. I sent it for up grades before installing.

Thanks .....

hell id rather hear that theres an electrical problem.. electrical is probably cheaper to fix.. i just quit a trans shop.. it would def cost you more to have the trans pulled to find out it needs hard parts/clutches/vb and or a converter.. its way easier typically to just replace a shorted solenoid or broken harness..
